Dance Christmas Party!

Last night I took Jaedyn to her first dance team Christmas party.  The studio does this every year for all the kids on the dance teams.  Jaedyn was so excited to go and hang out with her dance friends and party.

When we got there Miss Kim had pizza and drinks for all the kids to eat for dinner.  I think these girls loved it, or maybe it was that they loved posing funny for the camera...

What cheesers!!  Haha, get it? Cheesers?  I'm funny!

After hanging out in the lobby for a little bit, Jaedyn and the girls decided to move their party out on the dance floor (literally, this is the dance floor) with the older team members.

Here, they played around even more than they could in the lobby because there's more space...

  Jaedyn attempted a few somersaults...

Then she joined Madison and Greta for some more fun with these foam squares...

I got a good laugh from these three silly girls...they are crazy!!

Next up was the sock exchange.  The kids all drew names prior to the party, then they got to go pick out a pair of socks for the person they drew.  Jaedyn waited patiently for her name to be called...

...then she waited patiently for everyone to get their gifts so they could all open them together...

Finally she got to open her gift and see what her socks looked like...

 photo SOCK EXCHANGE2.jpg

They were pink "Elf on the Shelf" socks.  She liked the pink, but hated the elf because it's a boy.  We don't do the whole "Elf" thing at Christmas time, so she has no idea who he is.

Since she wasn't too excited about her socks, she took off and went straight to the dessert table...

She ate a bunch of sweets there, then she joined Madison and Madalyn for some more crazy time.  I think they might have had a little too much sugar.

They were playing a game they made up, but don't ask me what it was, I have no idea!  All I know is that it involved freezing in place.  They were sure having a good time playing together.

Miss Kim got this super cute picture of Jaedyn and Greta while I wasn't around...

These girls love each other so much...I love it!!  It's so fun watching Jaedyn have such good friends to hang out with.

Before the party ended, I got a picture of Jaedyn with most of her dance team and Miss Kim...

Jaedyn had so much fun at her dance party.  I love that her studio does fun things like this for the kids.  It was a great way for them all to let loose and have fun without the ballet and tap shoes!

Pizza Making Fun!!

Today Jaedyn had a pizza making day at school.  Papa Murphy's came to show the kids how to make pizza and then let them all make their own to take home.

Before all the fun started, the moms put together these cute little pizza boxes for the kids to take their mini pizza's home in...

The kids got a demonstration on how to make pizza and what ingredients to use...

Jaedyn kept making me laugh with all of her facial expressions while smearing on the sauce...

When it came time to add on the pepperoni, Jaedyn decided to eat most of it instead of putting it on her pizza.  She loves to eat pepperoni!

She did leave a little bit of pepperoni for her pizza, but not much.

After the kids were all done putting together their pizza's, then each got their own box to put them in so they could take them home to bake and eat.

While the kids were making their own pizza's, the people from Papa Murphy's were baking the pizza's they made so the kids could have some to eat.  I think this was their favorite part of the activity...they loved the pizza!  I think Jaedyn had a few pieces.  She wanted more but it was gone.  She doesn't like to eat pizza at home so it surprised me that she wanted to eat so much at school.

I couldn't leave without getting a picture of us together.  I love being able to help out at school for my kids.  It's nice to not have to miss out on everything.

I love it that Jaedyn's teacher plans fun things like this for the kids.  It's a great learning experience for them and it's nice for them to get a little break from the classroom.  Jaedyn said it was an "awesome day"!

"Snowball Dance"

Tonight we went to the "Snowball Dance" at the kids' school.  It was another PTO sponsored activity, so I was in charge of putting it together with the rest of the PTO ladies.  We tried to decorate the cafeteria the best we could to make it not look so much like an eating area.  This is how it all turned out on our little budget...

I think it turned out pretty cute.  We had a refreshment table, snowflakes (courtesy of the students) and icicle lights on the walls, a DJ (one of our lovely PTO ladies), and a photo area where the kids could take pictures with their friends and/or family members.

As soon as the kids got there, Jaedyn immediately went out on the dance floor with her friend Summer, she was having a good time from the start.

I volunteered Jaron to help out at the treat table.  Jantzen isn't much of a dancer, so he decided to help out there too along with his best friend JoseAlfredo...

This is what Josh was doing when they got there...

...just standing around being bored because he hates to dance...party pooper!!

Jaedyn, on the other hand, was having a blast dancing with all of her friends.  Here she is with her friends Sophia and Jamie...

She did take a couple little breaks to have some yummy refreshments with Sophia...

...then she was quickly back to dancing, this time on the stage where everyone could see her...

It didn't take long for her friend Emma to join her up on stage.  I think she likes the stage better because she's used to dancing on one for her dance team.  She's getting to be quite the show off on stage!  It was cute watching her dance because she was having so much fun.

Jaedyn stopped dancing long enough for me to get a quick picture of her with some of her friends.

This is what Josh ended up doing the whole time we were there, along with another PTO hubby...

They are so enthusiastic about activities at the school, can't you tell?

Jantzen and Jose finally got out on the dance floor and let loose a little bit because "Harlem Shake" came on...

That quickly ended when the song was over and then they just stood in the middle of the dance floor while everyone danced around them...silly boys!

Jaedyn, however, was still going strong...dancing the night away!

 photo DSCN0323.jpg

Pretty soon all of my boys, including Jose, migrated to where Josh was being anti-social and glued themselves to the phones for the rest of the night.

Jaron was popular with the ladies...

Here's the picture I got of Josh and Jaedyn (with the backdrop I put together with Zulema).  I was happy that he at least would do that.

For some reason when it was time to take a picture here, Jantzen and Jaron were nowhere to be found.  I think they might have been purposely hiding from me.

I was so happy that we (the PTO) decided to host a dance instead of a Santa night this year.  It went so well and the kids all had a blast, especially Jaedyn!  I love it that she was having so much fun.  She reminds me of myself when I was in school.  I loved going to dances and having a good time with my friends.  Hopefully next time I'll be able to get Jantzen and Jaron to dance too.
