Going For a Ride...

I've said this before, but I'll say it again...I love how well my boys play with their little sister. The other day I caught Jaron playing around with Jaedyn. I don't know exactly how it started, but this is what I found them doing...

Jaron was pulling Jaedyn around on Jantzen's Buzz Lightyear blanket. He would run back and forth on the tile and it was so funny watching them play around. Jaron was being a little dramatic while pulling her (I think just for the camera), but was still having so much fun. Jaedyn giggled the whole time, she was loving it.

(Never mind Jaron's hair, it was a bad hair day and he didn't want it done)

They played together for a while before Jaedyn fell off the blanket and got hurt...poor girl. That didn't stop her though, she wanted to keep going, but I didn't want to take the chance of her getting hurt again and it being worse the next time.

I'm so happy that Jaedyn has such fun older brothers to play with, they keep her happy and laughing...what a lucky girl!

Christmas Day 2010

Our Christmas day didn't begin until almost 9am...lucky us! Jaron and Jantzen woke up around 7:30am, but we made them wait until Jaedyn woke up...poor them! For some reason Jaedyn didn't wake up happy, so she was kind of a grump in our annual stair picture. The boys hate that I make them wait to go downstairs, but I want to get pictures of what Santa brought before they get into things. Jantzen was having the hardest time being patient, he was a little too excited.

Santa brought lots of fun gifts for the kids and they all got what they wanted, except for Jaedyn. Jaron got the "Age of Mythology" PC game, Jantzen got a remote control "RC" from Toy Story, and Jaedyn got a pink rocking horse that sings and talks...she absolutely HATED it!! She cried when we tried to show it to her and she wouldn't go near it (she loved it in the store so I'm not sure why she doesn't now).

In their stockings Santa brought Jaron some new marbles, a harmonica, a mini bowling game, some Nerf darts, and candy. Santa brought Jantzen some new "Cars", "Donald" and "Goofy" mini toys, some new holiday rubber ducks (he loves those things), and candy. Santa brought Jaedyn "Mickey" and "Minnie" mini toys, a "Tinkerbell" tambourine, some little toy ponies, and some candy...

They all loved what they got in their stockings, even Jaedyn.

I think her favorite toys from her stocking are the "Mickey" and "Minnie". She didn't want to put them down all day and still hasn't. It's so cute how much she loves them.

I tried to get a picture of all the kids with their gifts Santa brought them, but as you can see, Jaedyn didn't want anything to do with her gift still. So, here it is, just Jaron and Jantzen...at least they were happy with what they got.

After checking out their stockings, it was time for the real fun to begin...opening the rest of their presents.

To prevent having any fighting, we got both the boys the same DS game...Super Mario Bros (yes, they've been playing it non stop since they opened it). They thought it was cool when I told them I used to play that game on the "Super Nintendo" when I was younger, but they did give me a weird look like, "what's a Super Nintendo"...okay, so I'm old!

Jaedyn gave each of the boys a mini golf set that they had been wanting...

Jantzen absolutely loves stuffed animals, He sleeps with a different one every night, so we got him some more for Christmas...

He especially loves his dog pillow pet. He's been using it as a pillow every night since he got it.

Jaedyn, on the other hand, wasn't loving the whole open presents on Christmas thing. Like I said earlier, she woke up in a bad mood and it continued for most of the morning until we were almost done opening presents. Don't you just love the dirty looks she's giving?

She did help open one present, but that was all she was going to do and she wasn't very happy about opening that one.

Jaedyn did get a cool new stroller/high chair/swing set for her babies...it even matches her stroller that she rides in. She actually really likes the stroller and her new Snow White baby that she got to go in it. Her favorite part of the baby is the headband.

Here Jaedyn's watching in anticipation to see what her last gift is, of course she wouldn't open it herself so Josh had to do it for her. What is it....

...It's a set of all the "Tinkerbell" fairies. Jaedyn really did like this gift. She carried around the fairies most of the day, it was so cute!

I think the kids really got spoiled again this year, but it made me happy to hear them constantly say all day how they were so happy with everything they got.

Here's Jaron with all his new gifts. He got "Age of Mythology", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" Wii game, "Lego Harry Potter" DS game, "Super Mario Bros" DS game, a new watch (that he loves), a "Hero Factory" villian, a couple "Beyblades", a "BeyBlade" stadium, a mini golf set, a mood ring, a "Nerf" gun, "Nerf" basketball set, a "Flick Trix" bike, plus all of his stocking stuff.

Here's Jantzen with all of his gifts. He got a remote control "RC" from Toy Story, a mini golf set, a dog pillow pet, a stuffed "Yoshi", some "Phineas and Ferb" action figures, "Super Mario Bros" DS game, "Perry the Platypus" interchangable stuffed animal, a green slinky, "Stringer, Hero Factory" action figure, another "Hero Factory" villian, an "Iron Man" Lego figure, "Maters Tall Tales" DVD, the "El Materdor" track set, plus all his stocking stuff.

And here's Jaedyn with all her gifts, she was too busy checking things out to give me a smile, but that's okay. She got a pink rocking horse (that she hates), a new stroller set, a "Snow White" baby, a new outfit, all of the "Tinkerbell" fairies, a purse, a "Hello Kitty" stuffed animal, a "My Little Pony" stuffed bath buddy, a camera, a musical bus, two little princesses (Snow White and Cinderella), a princess numbers foam mat puzzle, three new books (Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure, Beauty and the Beast, and a new farm animal book), a pink musical stuffed giraffe, plus all her stocking stuff.

After the kids finished opening their presents, it was time for me and Josh to open ours. We hadn't really planned on getting each other much this year, but we didn't stick to that agreement very well.

Josh got a new smart phone, but couldn't wait until Christmas, so he got it a few months earlier. He also got a new "Honda" T-shirt, a new "Alpinestars" hat, a new chain kit for his dirt bike, and this...

I tried to convince him that I didn't get the "Rock Band 3" because it was sold out, but I don't think he really believed me. He's been playing it a ton ever since.

Josh totally spoiled me this year. He got me a new pair of boots, a new pair of heels, a scarf, and this...

...A laptop!! I have been wanting one of these for a very long time and I finally got one. I'm so excited to have it. It's an 17.3 in. HP with a web cam and all...it's sooo nice!

After we were all done with presents we let the kids play while we made breakfast. The boys were super busy playing their new DS games (I didn't get a picture though) and Jaedyn was finally starting to really play with her toys.

Jaedyn was having a ton of fun with her new stroller. She also thought it was fun to walk around part of her baby's swing. Josh tried to put the whole thing together and add the car seat for her babies to swing in, but she threw a massive fit and I mean MASSIVE!! She cried and tried to pull it apart, so Josh finally took it apart for her, then she was happy again...such drama!! Later, when she wasn't around, Josh put it all back together and luckily she hasn't cried about it again...yet.

For breakfast we enjoyed our annual crepes and cinnamon rolls, they were yummy. After breakfast we hung out some more while Jaedyn napped, then when she woke up we went to see a movie. This year we went to see "Gullivers Travels". It was a funny movie and the boys liked it.

We then went home to enjoy playing some more with all our new toys. It was a really good Christmas for all of us this year. I'm so happy that everything turned out good and I especially love the fact that my boys do remember the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. "It's all about Christ", is what I have heard them say over and over...they are such sweet, thoughtful kids. I love them all so much and I know I'm so blessed to have them as a part of our family. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Eve 2010

We started off our Christmas Eve traditions by frosting sugar cookies for Santa, the boys look forward to this every year. We got everything ready, then started frosting away.

Even Josh got in on the action this year. Usually he just watches the rest of us, but he was having fun right along with the boys. Just look at that smile on his face...he was really enjoying frosting cookies.

And of course, after the work is done, it's time to enjoy...

Jantzen and Jaron have so much fun frosting and decorating cookies. The whole time they talked about how much Santa was going to love the cookies they made for him.

I'm not sure what's going on with Jantzen's lip here, but he does this all the time and I think it's funny (OK, I'll admit, I do it too...that's where he got it from).

Jaron is a little bit of a perfectionist and it shows as he's frosting cookies. He takes his time and is really good at it.

Jaedyn joined us for the annual festivities, but didn't frost any cookies (maybe next year). Instead, she just enjoyed eating a special cookie that her daddy made for her, complete with a "J" on it.

At first she didn't know what to do with it, so she decided to just taste a little bit of the frosting...

Then, when she figured out that she liked it, she tried a little more...

And eventually she decided to just eat the whole thing, it definitely tastes better that way...

The end result was a happy little girl, a happy tummy, and a messy face. I think Jaedyn enjoyed herself too, even though she didn't frost any cookies with everyone else...

Here is the end result of all the hard work the boys did, and yes, they were very yummy. The boys picked out four special cookies that they frosted especially for Santa and put them on "his" plate...

After we were all done frosting cookies, we cleaned up and then just hung out until dinner was ready. Jaedyn and I played around with the camera, she was being shy most of the time, but I did get a couple good shots of us together...

We then enjoyed our traditional Christmas Eve dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade rolls, corn, and Jantzen's favorite cheese ball. It's nothing super fancy, except for the china, but we all like it and it satisfies our tummies every time.

After dinner we let the kids open their "special" Christmas Eve present. Just look at the excitement on their faces...

I don't think Jaedyn quite knows what to think about this present thing yet, but she will.

And what was the "special" presents this year? That's right, it's pj's! Jaron got "Perry the Platypus" pj's, Jantzen got "Mario" pj's, and Jaedyn got "Tinkerbell" pj's. They were all happy with what they got and they all looked so cute.

After the kids changed into their pj's, we watched a Christmas movie ("Elf", a favorite of ours), read our annual Christmas story ("I believe in Santa Claus"), set out the cookies and Diet Coke for Santa, then put the kids to bed.

Here's a close up copy (I had to scan because Jaron wrote it in pencil) of the letter Jaron wrote to Santa. I love how he made a flower on Jaedyn's "J" and a swirly on the end of her "N"...so cute!

Then it was time to prepare for Santa's visit to our house. It was a long night, but I always enjoy every minute of it. I can't wait to see what Santa brought this year!
