Nerf Gun War!

Yesterday my kids were invited to a "Nerf Gun War" with a bunch of their friends. My friend Rikki hosted it and I helped by making the invitation for it...

Photobucket

My kids were so excited to go because they got new Nerf guns for Christmas that they wanted to use. These are all the Nerf warriors that came out to battle against each other...

Photobucket

These two look especially dangerous!

Photobucket

Poor Jantzen looks a little scared here, not sure why.

Photobucket

Jaedyn didn't want to feel left out, so she joined Jaron and Jantzen for some pre-battle poses. The boys were nice and brought her a gun to fight with too. I love how she was trying so hard to pose just like them. She loves her big brothers so much!

Photobucket

All the kids were separated into two teams and got their yellow and black headbands put on. Then they headed over to the battlefield...

Photobucket

The kids were all given the rules and then the war began!

Photobucket

Jaron ended up using some Nerf swords halfway through the war and now he wants some of his own.

Photobucket

I love how Jantzen did a lot of scouting out the enemies from behind the bushes. He likes the "sneak attack" approach...

Photobucket

I just have to laugh at the way Jantzen poses with his gun. It's like he's trying to do the splits or something and he always has a serious look on his face...he's so funny!

Photobucket

Jaedyn took some time out of fighting to hang out with her BF, Casen. This is what she has to say about him, "My Casen's a sweetie"...so cute!

Photobucket

Jaedyn did do a little fighting with the rest of the kids. Her favorite thing was to chase Jantzen and pretend to shoot him.

Photobucket

After the war was over, these tired warriors headed back to the base for some food to replenish their energy.

Photobucket

They got to enjoy some pizza, soda, and chocolate cupcakes. Jaedyn's favorite part was the frosting off the cupcakes...

Photobucket

Jaedyn got really excited when Stella came and that's who she played with the rest of the time we were there. As you can see, they had fun just playing in the rocks.

Photobucket

Sometimes it's hard to think of fun things to do with my kids over the winter break, but I thought this was such a fun idea for a party. My kids had such a fun time battling with their friends and the weather was perfect. Thanks Rikki for entertaining my kids!

Christmas Day...2011!

Our Christmas was so nice this year. Since it was on a Sunday (we had 9am church), we told the kids ahead of time that we'd let Santa know to put up a blanket so they couldn't see what he brought them until after church. They were so good and didn't complain at all about that. Instead, they were excited to see the blanket covering everything that morning as we came downstairs to leave for church...I forgot to get a picture of it. The only thing they did get to see was the empty plate of cookies, an empty Diet Coke can, and a "thank you" note from Santa.

Photobucket

Our Christmas morning breakfast always consists of homemade cinnamon rolls and crepes, but since we had to get to church so early we only ate the cinnamon rolls since they were already made. Before we left for church, we took some pictures of all of us dressed for Christmas...

Photobucket

You can't really see it in this picture, but I painted Jaedyn's toes and fingernails red...she loved it!

Photobucket

When she was getting her picture taken with me, she kept trying to show her pretty fingers instead of her pretty face. That's how much she loved her nails. This was the picture we ended up with...a little blurry, but still cute!

Photobucket

We went to church and enjoyed a nice Christmas program full of music and an awesome talk by our bishops wife. We came home from church and the kids insisted on putting their pj's back on to open presents in...Josh and I put ours back on too!

I took some quick pictures of the gifts that Santa brought...it looks like he left a little bit of coal by their stockings...

...Then we let the kids come down the stairs to see for themselves what they got. I, of course, took a picture of them first. This is why they wanted to get their pj's back on...they know the routine so well!

Photobucket

They were all so excited to see what they got from Santa!

Photobucket

He brought Jantzen a "Halo Mega Blocks Helicopter", Jaedyn got "Rapunzel, Flynn Ryder, and Maximus" (from her favorite movie "Tangled"), and he gave Jaron a BB gun rifle. They also all got new chairs for them to enjoy in the loft...in their favorite colors of course!

Photobucket

After checking out their gifts for a minute, they went to see what they got in their stockings. Jaron got some bb's and pellets for his gun, a new pocket knife, a long baseball eraser, and some candy. Jantzen got a new "Star Wars Boba Fett" puzzle, a "Cars" notepad and pen, a long monkey eraser, ans some candy. Jaedyn got some new princesses, a "Hello Kitty" DVD, a "Minnie Mouse" notepad and pen, some "Cinderella" socks, a long heart eraser, and some candy...

Photobucket

The first thing Jaedyn did was chow down on some candy, she loved the Christmas Sixlets! Jaron and Jantzen checked out their Santa gifts a little more and were so excited to start playing with them.

Photobucket

We told the kids to play around with their Santa gifts while we made crepes and then we'd open the rest of their presents after we were officially done with our Christmas breakfast.

I loved watching them all play with their gifts, especially Jaedyn. She was being so funny with hers. I actually caught her making Rapunzel and Flynn kiss...oh boy!

Photobucket

The boys quickly went to work on building Jantzen's helicopter. He's so lucky to have an awesome big brother like Jaron to help him with things like this.

Photobucket

The kids chowed down on their crepes (and loved every bite), then we let them open the rest of their presents. It was so nice watching them open their presents because they made sure that they all had one to open at the same time and they were so happy, excited, and grateful for everything they got.

Photobucket

Jaedyn loved her new purses she got!

Photobucket

My kids were spoiled again this year. Jaron got his BB gun rifle, a black saucer chair, "The Lost Hero" book, the seventh and last "Harry Potter" book, "The Hunger Games" book, a new "Lego Creator" set, "Hero Factory, Waspix", a new "Ultimate Star Wars Lightsaber", "Hero Factory, Witch Doctor", a "BeyBlade" locker, 3 new "BeyBlades", a "Nerf" gun, a bigger "BeyBlade" stadium, and a remote control helicopter...

Photobucket

Jantzen got a "Mega Blocks Halo Helicopter", a green saucer chair, "Mario" and "Luigi" Lego race cars, a "Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do it Yourself" book, 2 different "Lego Ninjago" sets, "Hero Factory, Nex 3.0", "Hero Factory, Furno 3.0", "Hero Factory, Fangz", "Hero Factory, Raw-Jaw", "Hero Factory, Scorpio", 5 new books, a "Nerf" gun, and a green "Star Wars Electronic Lightsaber"...

Photobucket

Jaedyn got the "Tangled" doll and horse set, a pink saucer chair, a "Pucci Horse", 2 new purses, 2 books (princess and Smurfette), A "Strawberry Shortcake" DVD, a "Minnie Mouse" princess dress up set, a vanity, a "Disney Princess" hair accessory tote, a "Tinkerbell" bowling set, a "Disney Princess" play tent, "Disney Princess" shoes, a "Disney Baby Ariel" doll, a new baby nursery, and a "Strawberry Shortcake" doll...

Photobucket

After the kids were done opening their presents, Josh and I opened ours. Jaedyn gave Josh a new set of flashlights with laser pointers built in...she didn't want to get her picture taken with him, so I got her backside as she was crawling away under the table. Jaron gave him the new "Pirates of the Carribbean, On Stranger Tides" DVD, and Jantzen was the most excited to have Josh open his present. He thought of it all by himself. He gave Josh a 12 pack of Diet Coke, his favorite!

Photobucket

I gave Josh a "GoPro" camera. He actually already used it the week before Christmas, but I made him put it back in the package and told him to act surprised when he opened it. Funny thing...this isn't a fake surprised/excited look on his face, he was really that excited for it again.

Photobucket

I got earrings from the kids and shoes from Josh. Unfortunately, the middle pair were ordered online and the color was a lot different in person (I didn't like it), so I ended up taking those ones back to the store...:( I love the other two pair though.

Photobucket

The rest of the day was spent playing with new toys and relaxing. Jaedyn loved her new princess shoes. She wore them for most of the day.

Photobucket

Jantzen got right to work building his "Mario" and "Luigi" race cars...

Photobucket

Photobucket

While Jaron started on his "Hero Factory, Witch Doctor"...

Photobucket

Josh put together Jaedyn's baby nursery and it didn't take her long to start playing with it. She was playing so sweet with her new baby...

Photobucket

She took a quick break to get in some bowling...

Photobucket

Jaedyn decided it was more fashionable to wear two different princess shoes at the same time. The rest of the day she wore one Sleeping Beauty and one Cinderella shoe...she's so funny!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Josh then got done putting together Jaedyn's vanity, so that's where she headed next. She quickly stated chatting on her cell phone while she admired her beauty in the mirror. It was the funniest thing watching her play with her vanity.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Jaron loved his remote control helicopter...

Photobucket

...and so did Josh! He tried to land it in Jaron's hands, but that didn't always work.

Photobucket

Jaedyn thought that looked like fun, so she tried to catch the helicopter too!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Jaron had some fun with his new lightsaber...it's pretty cool!

Photobucket

The boys had some lightsaber wars. Jaedyn decided that was the perfect time to get Jantzen's "tickle button". Then she decided to join in the war with her own weapon...her "Disney Princess" hair dryer. You better watch out boys!

Photobucket

We let the kids play with their toys the rest of the day while Josh and I watched movies together. It was such a nice, relaxing day! There was no fighting, with the exception of Jaedyn being a bully to Jantzen. She shot him in the throat with his new "Nerf" gun and it hurt him, then a little later she shot him in the eye with a dart gun that came with Jaron's new lightsaber...poor Jantzen!

We normally go see a movie on Christmas day, but since it was on a Sunday this year we decided to go the day after since Josh had the day off from work. We took our kids, plus their cousins (Kennedy, Sadie, and Tate) to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks, Chipwrecked". Josh and I thought the movie was kind of boring, but the kids loved it!

Photobucket

After the movie, the kids all played at our house and Kennedy, Sadie, and Tate ended up sleeping over. Jaedyn was so happy to have Sadie at her house. They did each others hair with Jaedyn's new vanity and hair accessories, it was so cute!

Photobucket

It was such a nice Christmas this year with my family. I'm so grateful that I have a family to celebrate this wonderful time of year with. I kind of wish that Christmas could be on a Sunday every year, I think that's what made it so much more special this year.
