Lunch With the Girls!

Today Jaedyn had her weekly dance class and after all the girls wanted to go to lunch together.  We decided to take them to Cafe Rio since it was close by.

As soon as we got there, this is what Jaedyn and her friends started doing while they waited for their lunch to come...

    We all thought it was pretty funny (and a little sad) that this is what they were doing instead of talking to each other.  They are super cute though.
As soon as their food came, they did put all the electronics down...only until their food was gone though.     It's really fun watching Jaedyn interact with her friends.  She has a really fun group of girls in her dance class this season.  She loves them all!

Mother's Day 2014

Yesterday I got to celebrate another Mother's Day with these three cuties...

  It was actually a really nice day for me.  In church, all the men took over for us moms in our callings.  It was nice not having to teach any lessons in primary (Josh had to teach one of the primary classes).  Instead of doing our callings at church, the men/ym had prepared a yummy brunch for us along with a video showing the importance us moms have in our families' lives.  It was so nice to relax at church and be catered to...the brunch was super yummy too!    Here I am with some of my cute friends (from left: Rebecca, Me, Amanda), we all had so much fun together.     For dinner, I requested Grandpa Cronin's burritos and Josh was happy to make them for me.  It was nice because I didn't have to do anything, including dishes after!  I need to be pampered like this every day!
I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a mom.  My kids bring me so much joy and I love being able to stay home with them and watching them grow.  Happy Mother's Day to me!!

Pine Wood Derby...2014

Yesterday Jantzen was able to compete in his first Pine Wood Derby for Cub Scouts.  He chose a Minecraft Creeper theme for his car and he named it the "Creeper Mobile".  This is how it turned out...

   Jantzen helped Josh design the shape of the car and I helped with the painting part.  He thought it turned out pretty cool, he loved it!    Jantzen was so excited for the races to start.  For his first race down the track, he got 2nd place.  He got a few 1st place finishes, but mostly he got 2nd and 3rd's.          The final score for all the races put Jantzen 5th overall.  He was okay with that, even though he really wanted to win.       It turned out, after the races were all over, that one of the boys got disqualified for having the wheels on his car shaved.  This kid had originally gotten 2nd place overall, so that moved Jantzen up to 4th place overall.  He was happy with that and said he'll hopefully do better next year.   Here's a few pictures of Jantzen and Josh...             Even though he didn't win, Jantzen still had a fun time making his Pine Wood Derby car with Josh and I, and he also had fun at the races with his friends.  I'm happy he has such a good attitude about not winning.  It's more about having fun. 

Field Day 2014!

Yesterday was field day at Jantzen's school.  This year his grade had lime green shirts, he was pretty happy about that since his favorite color is still green.

As usual, there were a lot of fun games for the kids to play, like crab soccer...

   The games Jantzen liked the most were the ones that involved water.  I can't say I blame him, it was pretty hot outside.      Some of his classmates had fun getting him all wet, he laughed about too...      Jantzen got to play some basketball...      ...and, Jaedyn got to join him for this water balloon/ball toss...      There were a couple relay races they did...          They both had a blast playing sponge volleyball...         I think this relay race was Jantzen's favorite because it involved water.  Josh built the mister for the walk a thon and the PE teachers thought it would be fun to use for field day, so we let them.  The kids had a lot of fun with it.      This game (9 square) was really hard for me to follow.  It's a lot different from when I was a kid...      Jantzen and his classmates were really good about helping Jaedyn play the games, they were all so sweet to her...she loved it!         Jantzen was throwing things here, even though it looks like he's dancing...      Here's Jantzen's class this year, including the "honorary" 3rd grader up front, aka Jaedyn.  She loves being a part of everything at the boys' schools.         And yes, Jantzen was soaking wet after field day was over.  Thank goodness the school day was almost over!

Mother's Day Tea!

Yesterday I was invited to a "Mother's Day Tea" at Jaedyn's preschool.  She was really excited for me to come to it, that's all she has talked about for days.

    When I got there, Jaedyn immediately showed me to my seat and proceeded to serve me my "tea", aka, lemonade.  She joined me for a little drink herself...      She really liked this Valentine goblet she got to drink out of...       After a little bit of "tea", Jaedyn served me some yummy lunch.  She, of course, sat down on my lap and helped herself to everything she dished up for me.   After we were done eating lunch Jaedyn went up with Mrs. Tate and presented me with a rose and the reason why she loves me.  She said, "I love my mommy because she takes me to the park"...aww, she's so sweet!       She also gave me this cute bracelet she made and wrote my name on my gift all by herself...          And lastly, Jaedyn made me this cute book...                         I love it that she thinks I'm "16"...that gave me a good laugh!    I loved it all!  I also love how excited Jaedyn was to serve me lunch and to give me the gifts she made.   I love my beautiful little princess.  She makes being a mom fun and worthwhile...I love you Jaedybug!!!  

"Muffins With Mom"...2014

This morning was the annual "Muffins With Mom" breakfast at Jantzen's school.  The kids all love having muffins at school with me, mainly because they get to run around wild until school starts.

    Even though Jaron no longer goes to this school, he still has a lot of fun playing around with the elementary age kids...          What a goof ball!!!
Here's a group shot of all the PTO kids...they love being called that!     It was a fun morning before school...and the muffins were super yummy too!

Shark Reef Field Trip...

Jaedyn had another field trip today with her preschool class.  This time they went to the shark reef.  She was really excited because she hasn't been there before.  I've been there several times with the boys for their class field trips.

Jaedyn thought all of the animals were really cool...

        She really liked hanging out in this tunnel with different fish and sharks swimming above her...       However, when we got to the area where they got to touch some rays, she wanted nothing to do with that.  She wouldn't touch them at all!  She watched everyone else touch them instead.           Here's Jaedyn with some jelly fish...       ...the pictures I took of her with the octopus' didn't turn out very well.  She was kind of freaked out by them anyway.
This lady was our guide for the day.  She told the kids all about the different animals they were seeing throughout the shark reef.  Here she's telling them about the sharks/turtles they were about to see in the big tank.      And, here's part of the big tank...       The kids were looking for the turtles, sharks, and even the scuba divers that were cleaning the tank.  Unfortunatly, Jaedyn didn't really get to see any sea turtles.  I think they were hiding.
She decided to take a break from looking at the animals...          After looking at the sharks for a little while, Jaedyn and her class got to go to a classroom to learn more about sea creatures...      She got to see a lot of different things that come from the oceans and seas...               Then she got to explore different things in the classroom, like these "Nemo" fish (Clown Fish)...       Jaedyn had to pose with her friend CHarlotte by the snake...      Here's a group picture of Jaedyn with her class and our tour guide...       While she was exploring, an alligator tried to bite Jaedyn's finger...OUCH!      I tried to get a picture of Jaedyn's whole preschool class with Mrs. Tate, but it was kind of hard getting everyone to smile at the camera, so here's what I got...       One last thing Jaedyn explored was this puffer fish, she thought it was really "prickly", but cool...     Jaedyn had a really fun time on her field trip with her friends.  I'm so happy I was able to come with her and watch her explore different creatures that she's never seen in real life before.
