Check Out That Hair!

The other day we were messing around with Jaedyn's hair and noticed that it was really long in some spots. She has more hair than the boys did at this age, I'm hoping that doesn't mean that she's going to have fine hair like me. I'd rather her get Josh's hair...thick and curly. I was making her hair stick up and parts of it on top look about two inches longer than the rest (it's kind of hard to see in the picture, but it's there).



I just had to add this picture of Jaedyn trying to eat my camera because I thought it was cute.


Now that Jaedyn has a little more hair on top I've decided that I'm actually going to do something with it every day. I want to introduce the "curl-hawk". I add her secret hair product and then curl her hair with my finger. The finishing touch is her matching hair bows. She looks so stinkin' cute with her hair this way, not that she wasn't super stinkin' cute before.



I loved this picture of Jaedyn. Her eyes are the three b's...big, bright, and beautiful and so is she. I just love her to pieces, how can you not love this face.

Anderson Dairy Field Trip

Last Thursday Jantzen had another field trip for his preschool class. They went to Anderson Dairy. He doesn't remember, but he went there four years ago with Jaron on his preschool field trip. The kids were so excited to go, I think it's because we told them they were going to get ice cream at the end.


They walked around learning about all the machines that make the ice cream and other dairy products. I don't know how much they really heard because there was a bit of a mix up on the dates, so we ended up with a large group of kids there. I think they still had fun though.

Usually by these penguins they have a machine that makes fog go down the hallway, because it's by the cooler area, but it wasn't working...too bad for the kids. I remember when we came with Jaron, the kids loved it.


After the tour they went back to the room where they watched a movie about the history of Anderson Dairy and then they got to enjoy some really yummy cookies 'n cream ice cream. That was the best part according to Jantzen.


I got some cute pictures of the kids with the talking cow, which they thought was pretty cool, and then before we left Jantzen wanted his picture taken with the talking dog. I wasn't paying much attention to him as I was taking his picture, so it wasn't until I looked closely at them when I got home that I noticed something a little weird. "Holy Cow!" What is my Jantzilla doing in that picture? I have no idea where he learned that from...If he was trying to get a laugh out of us, he accomplished that.




Boys!!! It's a good thing I have another girl in the house so I don't have to be the only one.

6 Months

Yesterday Jaedyn officially turned 6 months old. It's amazing how much she grows and changes every month. She has so much personality already, and is also getting a little bit of an attitude sometimes, but we still love her more every day.

Here are a few things about our little Jaedy Bug at 6 months:

*She is 25 1/2 in. tall

*She weighs 15 lbs.

*She has finally learned to roll over from her tummy, but hates it

* She's starting to sit longer by herself

* She's outgrowing her swing, fast

* She sings a lot

* She loves fruit

* Her brothers make her laugh a lot

* She's not spitting up as much as she used to, thank goodness

* She now drools all the time

*She loves to stick out her tongue

*She's getting more hair

*She loves to kick the keyboard when you're on the computer

*She loves to play with her toys and anything else she can get her hands on

*She likes to sit like a big girl in her stroller

*Anytime Jaron's around, she pulls his hair and loves it...she smiles

*She tries to pull off her shoes, but isn't successful yet

* She's a kicker, so watch out!

*She laughs when you tickle her feet

* She just gets cuter and cuter every day

I took these pictures right before Valentines Day and I just loved how the ones of Jaedyn and Jantzen turned out. Jantzen was trying to give her a kiss, but I don't think she really wanted one...it just made him laugh. He has so much fun playing around with her and they both have such fun personalities. You can see it in on their faces. Check out those smiles...too cute!

Blue and Gold Banquet

Last night Jaron had his first Blue and Gold banquet for Cub Scouts. The theme was "100 Years of scounting" since it's the Cub Scouts 100th birthday this month. He had to make a cake representing the theme. I ended up making it, but he did tell me how he wanted it. As you can see, I'm no professional, but the bottom part is homemade, not from a box, so I get credit for that. Plus, it tastes a lot better than it looks. I found out at the banquet that the dads were supposed to be the ones that helped the boys make the cakes, but I don't really think that happens too often.


Jaron was really excited for this night, not only because it was the first Blue and Gold for him as a Cub Scout, but because he was getting a bunch of awards. He earned eight belt loops for soccer, bowling, swimming, fishing, chess, art, astronomy, and computers. He has been working on these things for a long time and thanks to his grandpa King, he got his fishing belt loop...Josh doesn't like to fish, but Jaron does.


For dinner we got to enjoy pizza and salad and then had the cakes for desert. Jaron and Jace ate part of the numbers and Jantzen enjoyed the bottom portion...he had two servings.


I think Jaron had a fun night and we're so proud of him for what he accomplishes in Cub Scouts, he really enjoys it.

He Did It Again!

A couple weeks ago I posted about the "snow-man" that Jantzen made with his pillows and stuffed animals and wondered what he'd come up with next. Well, here it is...

I went to get him for bed and noticed this on the table in the toy room. He had Rex in his condo and his Gresh Bionicle and two clone troopers sitting in some of Jaedyns toys (notice how the troopers are sitting in a seat that matches them). When I asked him what they were doing he said, "They're watching 'Chicken Little' at the movies". Seriously, where does he come up with this stuff?



A couple days later, I went downstairs and this is what I found at the bottom of the stairs...Mickey riding Bullseye with Pluto in their way. When I asked Jantzen what was going on here he said, "They're playing Woody's round up". I think maybe he watches Toy Story a little too much.



I've said it a lot before, but I'm going to say it again...Jantzen is so creative and silly. He gets his creativity from me and his silliness from Josh. Keep the laughs coming buddy!

How She Gets Around...

Jaedyn loves this toy. It plays fun songs and she is mesmerized by the animals when they move. A while ago I noticed that she was moving herself all the way around on it, but I never saw it, so I was wondering how she did it with the sides being in the way. The other day I finally saw how she gets around, and this is how she does it...

First, she starts the way I put her in it, look at that cute happy smile (it's a rare occurrence for me to capture that on camera).



Then, she lifts her legs and folds herself in half.


And swings them over until she has turned and can lay flat again.



Mission accomplished!


I'm thinking she'll be good at gymnastics when she's older, maybe even a future Olympian (a mom can wish, right?). I'm also thinking this means she might start getting mobile sooner than I want her to be. I know Jaron and Jantzen would love that. It won't be too bad, we made it through with the boys becoming mobile...and we're still dealing with it!

GNO!

Last Saturday I got to enjoy another girls night out with some awesome girls. We went to see "Dear John". I liked the movie, but not as much as I thought I would. I had a totally different idea of how it was going to end. According to some of the girls there who have read the book, the movie ended a lot different. I think I liked the movie version better than what they told me.

After the movie, we went to TGI Friday's to eat and socialize. We had a great time visiting with each other and we had a ton of good laughs. Some of the girls even did a little bit of dancing at the table with the music. We didn't end up leaving until almost midnight.


I just had to throw in these pictures because I took them and thought they were so cute. Here Savannah, one of the cutest girls ever, is showing off her excitement for "Eclipse". The picture of her kissing it reminds me of the picture of me kissing my Edward plate at my "New Moon" party, so funny. I'm super excited for it to come out too...only four more months!!

The "Jaedy Bug" Song

I don't remember how Jaedyn got the nickname "Jaedy Bug", but we've been calling her that pretty much since she was born. I think it's a cute nickname and the boys love it too. A while back Jantzen made up a song for Jaedyn called, "The Jaedy Bug Song". I have been meaning to get around to recording it so we can remember it always, but just did. He has altered it a bit since he first made it up. The original version says, "Jaedy Bug, Jaedy Bug, our little lady bug, can I come over and give you a hug? You're a little princess, you're so pretty, I love you Jaedy Bug". And yes, he did make that up himself. I love it and it's so cute when he sings it to her. I think she loves it too.

The version I got of Jantzen singing it is a bit longer, but still super cute and creative.

Another thing we like to say to Jaedyn is "get the baby!" The doll that Jantzen gave her for Christmas is her favorite toy. When we say, "get the baby", she will go to town on it, biting any part that she can get in her mouth. Sometimes she'll even growl when she does it. It's so cute and it keeps the boys entertained for a long time.

Here is a clip of Jaedyn playing with her baby. At one point, she almost loses the baby, but makes a nice recovery. Every time Jantzen sees this video, he says, "baby overboard!" Too cute! Have I mentioned how much I love my kids and how entertaining they are? Well I do, and they are.

Two Monkeys and a Spitter

Jaedyn has really been into spitting a lot lately. The other night as I was putting the boys to bed, I layed Jaedyn down on Jantzen's bed to say prayers. As soon as I layed her down, it was like she's a magnet...the boys were right there in her face, playing around with her. I thought the newness of her would've died down by now, but it hasn't. Sometimes she doesn't like it and other times I think she does. This time she didn't mind the attention, at least for a little bit. She started spitting at the boys and they thought it was funny, they couldn't stop laughing, and kept it going.

I managed to capture a few pictures of her spitting, but mostly I got pictures of her wide eyed while Jantzen snuggled her, trying to be silly I might add. Don't you like how Jantzen stuck Minnie Mouse by her? He thinks that she likes Minnie right now because she wears pink. He's obsessed with people's favorite colors right now.





It looks here like she's thinking, "Finally, they are leaving me alone." I know she loves her brothers, but sometimes they do smother her a bit too much, it's all in love though.


I did manage to capture a few video clips of Jaron and Jantzen playing around with Jaedyn while she's spitting at them. In one of them I caught Jantzen picking his nose, at least he doesn't eat it, and I called him out on it. He's going to love that when he's older and I show it to all his girlfriends. I do really love how sweet the boys are with her, so I don't get mad at them when they do this, but she will sometimes.

Jantzen's "Snow-man"

A couple days ago I kept hearing Jantzen in his room talking about his "snow-man" that he was making. I didn't think anything of it, I thought he was drawing a picture because he loves to do that and does it a lot. It wasn't until Josh went in Jantzen's room to help him get ready for bed that I saw that that's not what he was doing. I just heard Josh laughing and telling me to hurry up and get in there.

This is what I saw when I went in...a Spiderman snow-man. He used his pillow for the body, his Spiderman face pillow for the head, his dolphin and Jaron's Shamu from Sea World for the arms, his black Spiderman's legs for the legs, and three balls for his buttons. Can this kid get any more creative? He just cracks us up everyday!

He just had to get in the picture to give his signature smile for all to enjoy!



I guess we really need to take him to the mountains to play in the snow and build a real snowman. He keeps asking, but we haven't done it yet. He also keeps telling me he wants to move somewhere where he can have snow in his front yard, maybe we'll get lucky and that wish will come true someday soon.

Everyday is a new thing with Jantzen and I'm so glad we have him in our family to keep us laughing. I wonder what he'll do next....
