A Girl Can Never Have Too Many Kisses

Can I just say, again, how much we all love our little "Jaedy Bug". She is just too much fun to give kisses to. I think she gets at least ten kisses each from Jaron and Jantzen on a daily basis and I can't even keep track of how many she gets from me and Josh.

We decided to take some pictures of us goofing around with Jaedyn while giving her kisses. Of course the boys didn't have a problem with getting their pictures taken, they love the camera.

Her face is saying here, "Go ahead and give the princess all the kisses you want".

Jaron had fun taking these pictures of me and Jantzen just chillin' with Jaedyn. As always, Jantzen has to give his signature cheesy grin that we've all come to love so much. We're still trying to guess who she's going to look like when she gets bigger. Josh is hoping she gets green eyes like me...we'll have to wait and see.

Jaedyn looks like she's getting bored with us here. Maybe she has had all the kisses she can handle for the moment. With Jaron and Jantzen, it won't be too long until they are back for more. You can't help but give her a kiss every time you are near her. That's what she gets for being such a cute little princess.

Let The Smothering Begin

Jaron and Jantzen just love Jaedyn to pieces. Ever since we brought her home from the hospital they have constantly been by her side. They always want to hold her, burp her, play with her, tickle her (Jantzen), hold her hands, and try to make her laugh. We have to remind them that it will take her a few months before she can start interacting with them, but that doesn't stop them from trying...it's cute to watch them try.

When Jaedyn was born the whites of her eyes were slightly yellow so we were told to have her in her diaper in indirect sunlight. Every time we would do that the boys were right there to entertain her so she wouldn't be bored, as they called it. It's fun to watch Jantzen pull faces to try to make her laugh while Jaron is the one who holds her hand to comfort her. He gets so excited every time she does that. She is starting to recognize their faces and voices and she will turn to look at them when they talk.

Just this morning before church Jaedyn spit up all over Jaron's shorts and he didn't freak out, I thought he would have. I'm glad the boys love her so much, but we'll see how long the smitten phase lasts. In the meantime, Jaedyn, enjoy all this attention.

What a Big Boy

Jantzen really surprises me sometimes. The other day as we were getting ready, I went to make his bed for him and guess what...he had already done it! I couldn't believe it, he did it all by himself without me having to ask him. He doesn't usually do that. I usually have to repeat myself several times to get both boys to make beds, clean their room, clean the toy room, take their baths, etc. So this was a nice surprise and he did an awesome job!

Jantzen has also began taking showers which is nice because now he doesn't take so long in the bathroom playing with his toys while in the tub. Now if I could just get him to realize he can go to the bathroom without any help all the time...he does it sometimes.

Jaedyn's First Photo Shoot

A couple weeks ago my friend Shadoe came to take pictures of little miss Jaedyn. It was nice because I didn't have to go any where, she came to my house. It went well, but Jaedyn didn't want to sleep very much, she was awake for most of it. I just got the pictures back and they look awesome! I love them all and I'm going to have a hard time choosing which ones to print up. Thanks Shadoe!

Here are the ones that are my absolute favorites...beware, there are a lot!

I may be a little biased, but Jaedyn Jene is the cutest baby girl I've ever seen! We just love her to pieces.

Our Princess Is One Month Old...

Today Jaedyn is one month old. I can't believe she is already that old, it has gone by so fast! She is such a sweet little princess who is loved very much by everyone in her family, especially her brothers who are very protective of her. We are so grateful that she is a part of our family.

Here are a few things about our little "Jaedy Bug", as the boys like to call her...

She now weighs 9.5 lbs.
She looks like a doll when she sleeps
She glows when she sleeps (daddy says)
She doesn't mind wearing her hair bows (she uses them as a sleeping mask)
She still doesn't like her Binky very much
She loves to eat, but is a little fussy about it sometimes
She has acid reflux
She loves her dad and brothers
She smiles a lot when she sleeps
She loves to cuddle with her daddy every night
She holds her head up pretty good
She has two big brothers that always look out for her
She loves to suck on her hands when she's hungry
She has sensitive skin
She loves her swing and her bouncer
She is finally fitting into her 0-3 months clothes
She has discovered that pulling her own hair doesn't feel very good
Her daddy says, "She's perfect!"

Jaedyn has an ever growing personality that we see more of every day. Jaron and Jantzen can't wait until she can interact more with them. You can't help but smile when you look at her and she is such a blessing in our lives. We love her more every day.

So Sweet...

The other day while Jaron was at school, Jantzen and I were hanging out with Jaedyn. She started to get a little fussy so the first Jantzen did was get her musical bear. This bear used to be his, but as soon as we brought Jaedyn home he gave it to her. Anytime she gets upset he gets it for her and most of the time it calms her down. He told me she loves it. I thought that was so sweet of him to give it to her to make her happy.

When we got Jaedyn calmed down and asleep Jantzen asked to hold her, as he always does. This time was a little different though. Usually he holds her for about a minute and then says, "I'm done now", but this time he wanted to hold her for a long time and have his own little photo shoot with her.

How can you not look at him in these pictures and say, "Ahhh, that's so sweet." Both the boys are so gentle and loving with her. It makes me happy as a mother to know that they wanted her just as much as I did.

As soon as all the sweetness went away, came the cheesiness. What is a photo with Jantzen without that? Of course Jantzen had to show off his big muscles. After a little while he was worn out, but he wasn't really. He was only pretending to sleep since Jaedyn was sleeping on him. I'm surprised she slept through all his movements and laughing. I wish I could sleep that good.

I just love how these boys are so entertained by Jaedyn and I love how much they love her.

Jaedyn's First Bath

A few weeks ago we gave Jaedyn her first bath here at home. I didn't get any pictures of her first bath at the hospital so I did them at home. As you can see, she didn't like it very much. I don't blame her, we couldn't put her all the way in the water because of her umbilical cord so it was probably a little cold for her. I bathed her as fast as I could so we could warm her up, but it's kind of hard when she is screaming and kicking during the whole thing.

After Jaedyn was bathed, all wrapped up in her flower towel, she was finally happy. Since then she has had several baths, in a full tub since her cord is off. She seems to enjoy them a little more now.

Last week when Josh and I were bathing her, Jaron was in there to help. He loves to help with Jaedyn. He asked Josh, "Why doesn't she have a...?" Jaron was too embarrassed to say the word...I said it for him and he said, "yeah, that." Josh told him that girls and boys have different parts and said he will have "that" talk with him later. Jaron asked if it was inappropriate and Josh said, "no, you just need to be a little older." I know Jaron will be so embarrassed when he hears everything, but he's curious so we'll have to sit him down sooner than we want to. I can't wait...Not!

G.A.T.E.

Yesterday I got the official letter stating Jaron got into the G.A.T.E. (Gifted And Talented Education) program at school. He was tested a couple weeks ago and did very well. There is usually two tests that have to be taken in order to make it in, but Jaron did so well on the first one that he didn't have to take another one. I was told by the G.A.T.E. teacher that he had to get a 98% or higher in order to not have to take a second test...he got 99%. I was also told that the test is very hard and is very visual. She said that the whole time Jaron was taking it that he kept saying he was getting good ideas for art projects. She also said that she could tell that he learns very well visually.

I am so excited for him to be in this program this year. I think it will be very good for him as well as fun. He tends to get bored with the everyday work routine so this will be a good stimulator to keep his brain working and not get bored. I remember being in a program kind of like this when I was in elementary and I enjoyed it very much, hopefully he will too. We are so proud of Jaron for all he has accomplished so far in his schooling and we look forward to what he accomplishes in the future. Way to go Jaron!

Jantzen's First Day of Pre-school

Jantzen started another year of pre-school this week. He is now in Ms. Tanya's class. I decided not to do the co-op again this year because of having a new baby and Jaron really enjoyed going to Ms. Tanya's pre-school so I think that Jantzen will like it too.

Jantzen has been waiting to start school ever since Jaron went back. It was killing him to not go at the same time as Jaron. He picked out some new shirts, shoes, and a backpack for school. He picked out all the same shirts that Jaron picked out for school so they could be twinners, it was so cute. He didn't want to wear his new shoes yet because it's still too hot, so he is going to keep wearing his flip flops. Can you guess what his favorite color is?

I wanted to get a picture of him on his first day and he wanted Jaedyn in it with him, Jaron was already at school. He just had to squat down by her so he could be the same size.

Jantzen was so excited to pick out a backpack this year. He told me that he wanted a Spider man one, but when he saw this one he just had to have it. It's a super hero backpack with Iron Man, Spider man, The Hulk, Captain America, and Venom on it.

We finally got packed up and ready to go. Jantzen is so excited if you can't tell. He's looking forward to making new friends this year.

As of today, Jantzen has finished his first week of pre-school and is loving it. He is learning Spanish and it's so cute how he tries to remember what the words mean. He knows how to write his name (he does it very well) and can write his numbers up to 12. Good Luck this year Jantzen, I know you will do good.

Labor Day Picnic

This year for Labor Day we went up to Mt. Charleston again. We have gone up there for the past three years since we have lived in Vegas. We took a picnic lunch and went up to the meadow to enjoy some cooler weather (about 30 degrees cooler).

When we got there the boys immediately started playing Frisbee. After a few minutes they decided to eat some lunch and then go back to playing. Jaron and Jace brought up some toy dirt bikes so they made a supercross track in the dirt. Josh told them to not get dirty, yeah right! Jantzen didn't bring a bike so he just sat and watched. I asked him if he wanted to play, but he said, "no, just watch".

The only thing I don't like about being in the outdoors is that there are no bathrooms around. The boys had to go so we told them to find a tree far away (there was a lot of people up there). Josh took Jantzen for a little walk to find a rock. That's the only way we can get Jantzen to go potty in the mountains, tell him he needs to get a rock wet, otherwise he freaks out and needs his bathroom at home. Josh also took the boys on a hike up the mountain. They had fun until it started getting steep and then they were done.

This was Jaedyn's first trip to the mountains and she slept most of the time. When she woke up, it was fun watching her look around. She was probably enjoying the cooler weather. Josh has too much fun with her. He's always wanting to hold her.

Jaedyn did start to get a little cold so we had to bundle her back up in her car seat. She looks so cute all wrapped up.

We played a little longer and then Jaedyn had had enough so we packed up to go home. All three boys were so dirty. I brushed them off and it was like a dust storm. I then used a wet wipe to clean their hands, face, arms, and legs. The wipe was all brown when I was done.

When we got home the boys went to play some more and Jaedyn just slept. I think we wore her out. Next year will be even more fun because she'll be able to interact more. It wasn't fun coming back to the HOT weather, but hopefully it will cool down soon.
