Crazy Sleepers

My kids sleep in the weirdest positions. None of them look that comfortable, but apparently they are or they wouldn't be sleeping so soundly. They don't even wake up or flinch when I take their picture, I would wake up. They also talk and make funny noises sometimes while they're sleeping. Just last night I woke up and saw Jantzen wandering around in my room, half asleep. It's a good thing he doesn't try to go down the stairs.

Jaron sleeps a lot with his legs hanging over his bed and on a few occasions almost half his body has been hanging over. We've had to move him back so he didn't fall all the way off his bed.

Jantzen had been sent to his room for a time out in this picture and instead of sitting on his bed, he took a nap. That's okay, he needed one.

Jantzen does this a lot...turns completely around and sleeps the opposite direction. He'll be like this one minute, and the next he'll be back sleeping the right way all bundled up under his covers.

Then there's Jaedyn. She still loves to have her face pressed up against the sides of her bed or she puts her blankets over her face, and she almost always has her legs up in the air when she sleeps. I don't know what's up with that, it doesn't look that comfortable to me, but it obviously is to her...silly girl!

I don't know how they sleep so good at night in their different positions, but I'm glad they do. I guess they probably could take after me or Josh, but I don't know how we sleep.

Mobile Little Princess

Our little Jaedyn is getting mobile really fast! We were a little worried that she would never crawl or stand up, she would do the noodle legs like Jantzen did. I guess we shouldn't have been too worried, Jantzen turned out just fine and now we can't get him to sit down! In the last few weeks Jaedyn has been trying so hard to get somewhere other than where we put her, and she's getting better at it every day...not good for us!

Every morning when I'm getting the boys their breakfast, I put her on the carpet by her toys and this is where she ends up...on the tile.

She scoots over there on her toosh, pushing herself with her hands. Sometimes she'll get up on one knee, with the other leg stretched out, and lean forward to get where she needs to go or to get what she wants.

She loves to play with the straps on her booster seat and move the chairs around. Many times she'll get herself stuck, will scream, and her brothers are there to quickly rescue her.

After a while she'll get tired and just give up on the whole crawling thing. This time she decided to relax on her back, other times she ends up on her stomach. Jaron and Jantzen try to help her, but I tell them not too because she needs to learn to crawl. Because they aren't there to help her, she will just give up and lay on her stomach with her face down in the carpet, almost like she's pouting...it's actually kind of cute.

We fear that she's going to get into more things than her brothers did, so we'll have to do more child proofing at our house...oh boy!!

More Swimming Fun

On Wednesday I took Jantzen and Jaedyn to the rec center for some more swimming fun with Avery, Dallin, and Rylee. Jantzen has been there before, but this was Jaedyn's first time, unless you count Jaron's birthday last year when I was pregnant with her.

It was sooo hot that day, it was perfect for playing in the water. Jantzen immediately went out in the water and when I put Jaedyn in she was not really thrilled...the water wasn't the warmest, but after a little bit she was okay with it.

After swimming for a little bit, the kids enjoyed their lunch and some snacks before heading back into the water.

After lunch, Jantzen took off back into the water. His favorite part at that pool is the waterfall mushroom. He also played around a lot with Dallin on the mini water slide and with the water spouts.

One thing I really like about the rec center pool is that the water gradually gets deeper. It was perfect for sitting in the water with Jaedyn since she couldn't use her baby float. There are some parts where the water spits out from that her and Jantzen had a ball playing in. They splashed each other and had a fun time.

I tried to get a picture of all the kids together, but it didn't work out.

Jaedyn needed a nap, so we had to leave earlier than Jantzen wanted to, but that's how life goes...all good things must eventually come to an end. I'm so glad to have good friends to do fun things like this with. It's nice for my kids to have friends to play with and friends for me to have adult conversations with.

Jaron's Titanic

Jaron has been learning about a lot of fun things this year at school. One topic they just finished learning about was the Titanic. He was so fascinated by everything that had to do with it, he now knows a lot more than I do about the Titanic. He was always asking me if I knew certain things about it, that sadly I didn't, but it was fun to learn things from him.

Jaron had to do a research paper on one passenger from the Titanic and he loved it. He thought it was cool learning about the people aboard the ship. Along with his research paper, he made a model of the Titanic. He used one of my shoe boxes, some card stock, cotton balls, and paint and did most of the work himself, I only helped with gluing it together with the glue gun (he didn't want to burn himself like I do all the time).

Here's his Titanic model. I think he did an awesome job, it looks so good! Good job buddy! We are now going to take him to the Luxor for the Titanic display that they have, he's so excited.

Today....

...Today was another fun day with the family. This morning we started the day off with breakfast. While we were eating, Jaron lost one of his top front teeth. Yes, he bled in his cereal and so we kindly gave him some more. We didn't even know he had any loose teeth, but apparently he has two. He knew they were loose but didn't want to tell us because he thought we would pull them out. We have tried all day to convince him to pull out the other, but he won't, even when we told him the tooth fairy would probably leave a bonus for only having to make one trip for two teeth.

After breakfast we decided to get in the pool. Jaron and Jantzen had a ton of fun playing around with Josh, while I got some much needed sun on my white legs. Unfortunately Jaedyn missed out on swimming this time because she was sound asleep.

After swimming for a couple hours, we got ready for the day and headed to the movie theater to see "Toy Story 3". We made it just in time to find some of the last seats together, it was very crowded. It's a good thing I bought our tickets online yesterday. The movie was really cute and funny, we all loved it. We'll definitely be adding it to our movie collection when it comes out.

We then decided to have dinner at Red Robin. It was, of course, yummy, and we all left with satisfied tummies. We all had a good day, but are now all worn out...it has been another great weekend together as a family.

Grandpa Cronin's Birthday Weekend

Last weekend we went up to Utah for grandpa Cronin's surprise 80th birthday party. We weren't looking forward to the long 8 hour drive, but we were excited to hang out with family that we don't see very often. It was cold up there, the kids froze every time we got out of the car...they were in shorts, you'd think they lived somewhere where it's hot this time of year.

We stayed at my parents house, which was nice for the kids. They don't see grandma and grandpa King very much and they love to play with Buddy and the Lincoln Logs. We got there just before midnight on Friday, so there wasn't any time to play. The next morning Jaron and Jantzen were quick to get out the Lincoln Logs and start building. Jaron built Jantzen these cool "Buzz Lightyear" jet pack wings out of them. Josh taped them to Jantzen's back and he was so happy, he didn't want to take them off when it was time to leave for the birthday party.

Jantzen also had to show off his cool new "Woody" socks...thank you Target dollar bin. He already has two pairs of "Buzz" one's, and has his eyes on the "Rex" and soldier ones.

At grandpa Cronin's house, we just hung out with family, waiting to go to uncle Mark's for the actual birthday party. While we were there, we got to enjoy some of grandpa's yummy homemade burritos that we had missed the night before...yes, the re fried beans and tortilla's are all homemade and are the best!

The boys ran around outside in the cold, and at times rain, while Jaedyn stayed inside and entertained the rest of us. I caught a cute impersonation of Elvis from her, check out that lip...

We finally left for Mark's house to start the party. The kids loved the big backyard and all the fun toys there. I hardly saw them all day, they were having so much fun playing with their cousins, in the rain.

After we ate lunch, we took some family pictures. I don't have one of the whole group, but I did get some with our little family. As you can see, it's very hard for our family to all smile or be serious in our pictures, Jaedyn just loves to pull Jantzen's hair...that's our crazy family.

After pictures, we sang "Happy Birthday" to grandpa Cronin, gave him his gifts, and then enjoyed some cake, root beer floats, and a variety of homemade fudge.

Here's Jaedyn hanging out with her uncle Colby. She's in a different outfit because she had her own mini photo shoot in this hat that her aunt Amber made. I will post them as soon as I get them because they turned out soooo cute!

We came home on Sunday, but before we left I got some fun pictures of the kids with their grandma and grandpa King. It took several shots because Jantzen was being kind of a stinker and didn't want his picture taken...I know, not "my" Jantzen. I did, however get some really cute smiles out of Jaedyn.

Overall, we had a quick, busy, but fun weekend. It was nice being able to get together with family from both sides that we don't see very much. I'm glad we all got along and hope that we can get together more often. "Happy Birthday" grandpa Cronin, we hope you had a good time too.

A Girl Who LOVES Her Snacks...

Jaedyn is by far the best eater out of all my kids, so far at least. Her absolute favorite thing to eat is her snacks. She loves the peach-mango fruit puffs and the peach yogurt melts. It seems like peach is her favorite flavor, she likes others, but not as much as the peach.

Whenever we give her some snacks she goes all crazy eating handfuls of them, almost like she hasn't been fed in days...it's so funny!

This was Jaedyn the other day while devouring the peach-mango fruit puffs...

She was eating them so fast, some were sticking to her face. That didn't phase her, she just kept putting more in her mouth. Maybe she was saving some for later. After she was all done, she was so happy and so was her tummy. I think she would eat fruit puffs all day if I would let her.

Pool Party!

Last week Jaedyn and Jantzen had their very first pool party for the summer. They had Avery, Dallin, and Rylee over for some cooling off fun, and I had Savannah and Lara over for some much needed adult conversations...and of course, to cool off in the pool too!

The kids got to enjoy the pool, a slip 'n slide, and a kiddie pool. I first set Jaedyn down with Rylee on the slip 'n slide, but as you can see, she hated it! I then put her in the kiddie pool and she didn't like that very much either! I think it's because the water was really cold, so being the nice mom I am, I added some hot water to make it warm...then Jaedyn loved it!

Jantzen and Dallin enjoyed playing in the big pool, the water was a perfect 84 degrees...it was nice! They were little fish all afternoon.

The little girls enjoyed playing in the kiddie pool, while us big girls enjoyed fun conversations. This is where Jaedyn stayed for most of the afternoon. She was having fun playing with pool toys, her Binky, and her friends. I just love the smiles she was giving me...so cute!

After swimming for a little while, we then enjoyed some pizza and lemonade, it was yummy!

While most of us were eating pizza, Jaedyn was just hanging out in the pool. She was having so much fun, I didn't want to bug her. Eventually I did, and I let her have some pizza with the rest of us...she loved it!

After lunch all of us, even us moms, got in the pool to cool off. The water was so nice, we didn't want to get out. Jaedyn really loved her new floatie we got her. She also loves the dive sticks we got for the boys. All she did in the pool was chew on them, she wouldn't let them go. If one of them started to slip off her floatie, she was quick to get it back before it fell in the pool.

When we were all done swimming, we got to enjoy Popsicles, otter pops, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream bars. I think Jaedyn enjoyed the ice cream bar more than anything else all day. She was going to town on it! you can tell how much she enjoyed it by her face, she's just so stinkin' cute, even with ice cream all over her face.

The kids and I had a really great time with our friends and the pool and we can't wait to do it again.
