Fun With Family

We had a really good time hanging out with our family over the Thanksgiving holiday. My kids don't get to see their grandma and grandpa King very often so we took lots of pictures of them together to remember the fun times we get to share with them.

The day after Thanksgiving I didn't go shopping for the first time in several years. There wasn't really anything that caught my eye enough to make me want to get up at 3 am and fight the crazy shoppers for. It was actually kind of nice to sleep in, but we did go to the Newgate Mall a little later to do some shopping. We enjoyed lunch in the mall food court. Josh got his Chick-fil-A that he was craving...they have the best lemonade. Jaedyn enjoyed a fun conversation with her aunt Amy while Jaron and Jantzen played on the carousel in the middle of the food court.

After we were done shopping it was dinner time, so we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant in Ogden...Javiers, mmmmm yummy! We don't get that very often either since there isn't any of those in Vegas. Later we went back to my parents' house and Jaron helped Amy finish up the decorations on their Christmas tree. After that Jaron, Jantzen, and Treven enjoyed some wrestling. That's one thing that my boys love to do, but it did get a little too rough so we had to stop it. I guess that's what you get when you have three very energetic boys together.

It was a busy, but fun day. It's good for my kids to get to know their extended family a little better and I look forward to many more years of getting together for the holidays.

Our Thanksgiving, 2009

For Thanksgiving this year we went to my parents' house in Tremonton, Utah. We go there every other year and my sister from Kansas and her family also come out. It's nice to see all of them because we don't get to very often. We left Wednesday after Jaron got out of school and headed out on our long journey north. We got there at 11:30 pm, Vegas time, which is the earliest we have ever made it there. It was colder than what we're used to in Vegas, but it was a pleasant change. I miss the cold...I know, I'm crazy, but I do. Even Jaron liked it.

The next morning we went to see my parents and sister. This was the first time they all had met Jaedyn. It's hard for my parents to get out with the bad luck they have with their health. My dad had a stroke a couple weeks earlier and we didn't know if he would be home for Thanksgiving. He was able to come home the day before...that's what we had to be thankful for this year. He is recovering well, thank goodness!

My sister and I did most of the food prep because my mom sliced her finger with a knife opening some crackers for my dad...what? Isn't it the mom that tells you not to play with knives? She ended up having four stitches, OUCH! Dinner was good as all Thanksgiving dinners are. I am one of the only ones in my family that likes the dark meat on the turkey, mmmmmmm.

My poor family has to suffer through endless amounts of pictures I love to have and because of that they don't cooperate with me very well. So, this is our Thanksgiving family picture this year. Maybe one year I will get one where we are all standing still and smiling nicely, I can dream can't I?

After dinner we just hung out and chatted. Jaedyn is smiling a ton now and I got lucky enough to get some pictures of them. She's so cute! I could just pinch her cheeks all day, but I won't.

Since Jaedyn is the newest member of the Goddard family she was the spotlight, this was her first Thanksgiving. Everyone wanted to hold her and cuddle with her, she loves that a lot. Laykin had fun with her as did her aunt Amy, grandma, and grandpa too. Jaron and Treven hung out and got along very well. He doesn't get to see his cousins very often, but when he does they have a lot of fun together.

This was the best part of the day for Josh and Jaedyn...nap time! I don't know how they can sleep with all the noise around them, I know I couldn't. Don't they look so peaceful and cute?

My mom has some Lincoln Logs at her house that my boys absolutely love. I've never bought any for them because that's what they look forward to at her house. They love to built houses and garages for the cars. It's fun to see how creative they get. As much as they love playing with these logs, they love their Nintendo DS' a little more. That's pretty much all Jantzen wanted to do up there and he loves to have an audience while he plays. Can't you see the concentration in his eyes? He's such a funny kid.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year filled with family, good food, and great visits. I'm happy that I was able to spend time with my family, even if it's only for a little while.

"New Moon" Party

Yesterday was the big day, the one I have been waiting months for...my New Moon party. As most people know, I am totally addicted to the Twilight books and now the movies. I can't help it, I just love them!

For the party, or get together to eat and socialize with friends, I found some fun things at Target. They had New Moon plates, napkins, and even chocolates (they were very yummy, BTW). My friend Melissa ordered an edible New Moon cake topper off eBay for me that I had put on a red velvet cake. I thought it turned out so cute, and yummy!

We did a lot of eating and talking before we went to enjoy the movie. It was fun having a bunch of friends over to hang out with. Before we left for the movie I had to get pictures of everyone there.

Back row: Lara, Julie, Me, Amy D, Frenchy (Amy B), Melissa, Taryn, Crystal, Tanya
Front row: Nichol, Alicia, Savannah

Frenchy and I bought our "Team Edward" shirts last year to wear to see "Twilight" and we decided to wear them again for "New Moon". I am an Edward fan all the way, even though Jacob does look good in this movie. I tried to squat down so I wouldn't look so tall next to her, I don't think it worked very well.

I know I'm a complete dork...I just had to do this because, like I said before, I'm a huge Edward fan. Josh laughed at me and shook his head when he saw this picture, he should know he's my real life Edward...minus the vampire stuff.

After all the fun with taking pictures, we headed to the movie. The theater was pretty full when we got there so we were lucky to find 13 seats together so none of us would have to sit separate. We did a LOT of giggling (like teenagers) before the movie started. I even noticed some real teenage girls behind us rolling their eyes at us, like we were so immature. Hey, just because we're older and have an average of 2.5 kids doesn't mean we can't have any fun, does it?

I got some more pictures before the movie started, I tried to get everyone in, but it was dark so it didn't turn out that well.

The movie was AWESOME!!! I liked it better than the first one, but I really like that one too. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD...that's going to be another long wait. On a side note, I don't have to wait another year before I can see the next movie, "Eclipse". It comes out in June...around the same time as mine and Lara's birthdays. That will be a fun present.

I had a really good time with these awesome girls. Thanks girls for making this a great movie premier. I will be counting down the days until next time.

Jaedyn is 3 Months Old

Today Jaedyn is three months old. It seems like we've had her longer than that, but it's been fun. I took her to the doctor today to get a weight check up. Last time I took her at two months, she wasn't gaining weight like she should have, this time was better. She has gained one pound in the last month, so she's now in the 50% on her weight. Her doctor said that is a good thing.

Here are a few things about Jaedyn at 3 months:

*She weighs 11.5 lbs.
*She sleeps from 10pm to 5am
*She smiles a lot
*She's trying to talk more
*She still spits up a lot
*She tries to sit up all the time
*She loves her swing & rides in the car
*She's still wearing 0-3 mo. clothes
*She loves to cover her face with her blanket when she sleeps
*She has her brothers wrapped around her little finger
*She is so beautiful
*You can't help but smile every time you look at her
*She is a very good baby

I have been trying to get a good picture of her smiling, but can't always get one before she's done smiling. I finally got one with my cell phone and I think it's one of the cutest pictures I have taken of her. She's just so sweet and precious.

I was taking her picture the other day and I caught one of her sneezing. I thought it was cute, so I had to post it. I'm going to be really sad when she outgrows some of her clothes. It's so much fun dressing her. Jaron helps pick out her hair bow and bracelet every morning.

Jaedyn still has reflux and will continue taking her Reglan and Zantac indefinitely. Her doctor said she will probably not outgrow it until she is around six months old. I pray for her daily as does her brothers, hoping that will help her. As long as she keeps gaining weight she should be fine. We are just so happy that she's a part of our crazy family.

Soccer Has Ended...

Last week Jaron had his last soccer game for the fall season, it was a double header. His team did awesome! Out of eight games, they won six...technically they won all of them. The two they lost, the other team had forfeited before because they didn't have enough players, but that's okay. They all had a good time and that's all that matters, at least it's supposed to be. I know the kids like to win too.

Jaron ended up making three goals this season, so I think he enjoyed it a little more than he has in the past. Towards the end of the season he started playing around more than normal. It wasn't always a good idea to have both him and Jace on the field at the same time, but their best friends so what can you do.

I'm kind of glad that it's over just because I don't like being a single mom at things like this, but I'm really going to miss not having to make dinner on Thursday nights. We really did enjoy eating dinner at the concession stand...mmmm nachos, hot dogs, chips, and hot cocoa (I only went for the nachos and hot cocoa). Next time I think Jaron will play through the rec center so that Josh can attend all of his games, but it was nice to be able to do this for free. It's an awesome thing our stake does for the kids.

Here's a picture of Jaron's soccer team this season. It was nice that we're all in the same ward so that all the kids already knew each other.

Good job BULLETS! You guys did awesome this season!

What Did You Say???

Being a mom is the greatest gift of all, but along with motherhood comes some frustrations, and here are mine... Since having three kids, a lot of my clothes and shoes don't fit me anymore. The clothes for obvious reasons (I am working to try and remedy this), but the shoes, that's the most frustrating part. Before I had any kids I could wear between a size 9 and 10 shoe, yes that's right, I have big feet because I'm so tall. Anyway, after our last little angel we have been blessed with I now wear a size 11. Can I tell you how frustrating it is not being able to wear most of my shoes from before and trying to find new, cute shoes in that size. I totally feel like I'm discriminated against.

Last weekend while out and about with the family, Josh bought me a couple new pairs of shoes (below). I thought they were so cute, I just had to get them in two different colors. So, while I was getting down my size 11's to try on I heard a little voice, it was Jaron's, behind me say, "Why do you wear such a big size?" I turned around to him and said, "What did you just say?" I wanted to make sure I heard him correctly. I think he could sense that it probably wasn't the right thing to say so he said, "I didn't say anything". So then I preceded to tell him that I wear such a big size because I had him and Jantzen and Jaedyn. He just gave me a look like, "I'm sorry" and then turned to Josh. Josh then told him, "You just got yourself in trouble, huh".

This isn't the first time I have heard a lovely comment from him regarding my post pregnancy body. After I had Jantzen, I was trying on a skirt for church and came out to see Josh and Jaron on my bed. Jaron was only four at the time. I told Josh that the skirt made my toosh look big and Jaron said, "You can say that again!" Josh couldn't stop laughing.

All I have to say is, my kids are so lucky that I love them!

Goodbye Old Friend...

This last Sunday we received some sad news. Josh got a text from his good friend Spencer letting us know that Tiancum had passed away that morning. Tiancum was Spencer and Jann's dog that was born around the same time as Jaron.

Until we moved to Vegas, Jaron and Tiancum were best buddies. They played together all the time and it was so cute how protective Tiancum was of Jaron. Any time someone would try to get close to Jaron, Tiancum would step out in front of him and give you a look of, "Don't mess with him or you'll have to deal with me!" He was one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met, so loving and gentle, yet so big in size.

We told Jaron the news as we were leaving church and it was the saddest thing, Jaron got teary eyed. He was very sad and upset about Tiancum being gone. It actually made me tear up a little too. It won't be the same going to visit without him there drooling all over us.

Here is an old picture I had of Jaron and Tiancum together when Jaron was only 3 1/2 years old. It shows how big Tiancum was, but also how loving he was. We'll miss you buddy!

Jaedyn's Birth Announcement

I meant to post this sooner, but I forgot to, so here it is now...

This was the announcement that my friend Lara made for Jaedyn. It took me sending several pictures before I got the combination just the way I wanted it. I think it turned out super cute, she did such an awesome job! Thanks Lara for putting up with my indecisiveness.
