Our Easter 2010

This year we had a really good, but busy Easter. Easter morning we were woken up by the kids, they wanted to see if the Easter bunny had come. Lucky them, he did.

The boys were really excited to see what they got this year, Jaedyn had no clue what was going on even though the boys were asking her if she was excited. Jaron got a new Bionicle, another "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" do it yourself book, a baseball set (complete with a tee and home plate), and LOTS of candy. Jantzen got a little Gresh Bionicle (Josh has been teasing him about this for a long time. When Janzten asked for a little green Gresh, Josh would say, "You want a little green dress?" Jantzen would always get frustrated with him), a sticky ball catch thingy, a new "Cars" puzzle, a slinky (so him and Jaron won't fight over Jaron's anymore), a new microphone (the last one got broken at preschool), and TONS of candy. The candy they were the most excited for was the cotton candy.

When Josh sat Jaedyn down by her basket, she didn't know what to think. In her basket she got six new outfits, a pack of binky's, a pair of shoes, three new movies (Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure, Alice in Wonderland, and Sleeping Beauty), and some Gerber treats. Notice the first thing she grabbed for...her shoes, that's my girl! She was very fascinated with her Easter goodies and has been enjoying her new treats. Now I get to make new hair bows to match her new outfits. She's too much fun to dress!

After the kids got their baskets, Josh and I started making our traditional Sunday morning conference breakfast. It was kind of fun that it happened on Easter this year. For breakfast we have German pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and orange julius. The orange julius was extra yummy this time. We started to watch conference as we ate and then enjoyed the rest of conference when we were done. Thank goodness for TIVO, we didn't miss any of the talks. They were really good this time around.

When conference was over we decided to have our annual "Goddard Easter Egg Hunt"...it's nothing fancy, it just sounds like it is. I hid the eggs, 87 to be exact, and then we let Jaron and Jantzen loose to find them. It wasn't that hard, but they had a blast finding them. Josh did get to some of them before the boys did. We sat Jaedyn down on the grass and gave her some eggs to play with so she could be a part of the fun, but the wind was bugging her and so this is the cute face I got from her. I think that's the same face I give Josh when he's irritating me. She did start to play with the eggs and have fun though, despite the windy day.

Here's Josh with his little princess...I love her face in this picture.

After our egg hunt we enjoyed a yummy Easter dinner made mostly by Josh. Then we were able to attend a baptism for a new family in our ward. It was awesome to be able to be a part of this special day for them and what a wonderful day to get baptized.

I am grateful for all the blessings my Heavenly Father has given to me and my family and for the sacrifice that the Savior made so that I can be with my family forever. I look forward to spending eternity with my wonderful family.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Last Saturday we began our busy Easter weekend. We started out the morning by going to the dry lake bed to ride dirt bikes and four wheelers with the Ashby's and our new neighbors. It was a lot of fun. Jantzen couldn't get enough riding in, that's all he wanted to do. It will be fun when he gets his own dirt bike this year. We didn't realize until we got home that we all got a bit too much sun...yeah, I forgot the sunscreen.

After we all got cleaned up we got ready to color our Easter eggs. Jaron and Jantzen were fascinated by everything I had to do to get ready for it. Jaedyn was taking a nap so she didn't join in the fun, next year she will. The boys colored on their eggs with a white crayon before they put them in the dye. Jantzen mostly drew smiley faces, it was cute.

Jaron was okay putting the eggs in the colors by himself, but Jantzen was a different story. He freaked out when I showed him how to do it, so most of the time I had to put his eggs in the colors for him. He did, however, figure out a way to do it himself...he just dropped the eggs in the dye. I quickly put an end to that, I didn't want coloring all over my tile. Jantzen got a little more comfortable holding the eggs after a little while.

I accidentally dropped one egg on the table before it was colored and Jaron had the perfect solution...he ate it! He LOVES hard boiled eggs! He just kept coloring his eggs while he ate, he's such a multi-tasker. Jantzen said he wanted an egg to eat too, but when I gave one to him he said, "No, I want a yellow one". When I told him the yolk inside is yellow he said, "No, I want it yellow like when you scramble it". I had to inform him that it's only yellow then because it's mixed with the yolk...yeah, he didn't want one after that.

After their eggs were colored and dry the boys added stickers. There were a lot of cute stickers they could have used, but they both only chose the sports ones.

Here are the finished products. I think they did an awesome job. You can even see some of Jantzen's faces on his eggs. We even made an egg for Jaedyn since she wasn't there to help. She got her very own "princess" egg, it's too bad she can't eat it. I'm sure Jaron will help her out with that.

We all had a lot of fun coloring eggs. After we were done we ate dinner and then watched "Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squeakqual". The boys love that movie, they laughed the whole way through it. It was a busy, but fun day. I look forward to more days like this with my family.

Toy Overload!

Poor Jaedyn, this is what happens to her when I set her down for a minute while I go do some chores.

I put her down the other day, turned my head for only a minute, and when I turned back around I saw a pile of toys on her. At first it looked like a "Where's Waldo" picture, but Jaedyn's a LOT cuter! Apparently Jantzen thought she needed some toys to play with, so he brought down some of his stuffed animals off his bed. This is now a regular thing for him to do any time she's sitting on the floor.

Here she's saying, "What just happened?"

When she realizes there's a bunch of toys for her to play with she thinks, "Which one should I play with first? There's too many to choose from". BTW, I love how her little foot is sticking out among all the toys...too cute!

Jaedyn loves to chew on everything, as all babies do. Here she's thinking, "Let me see how Pluto tastes. GRRRR! Take that Pluto!"

Jantzen will just have to deal with wet toys when she's done. You would think he'd learn by now, but he hasn't. I think he loves her too much to let it bother him.

"Now on to something else that will make my teething gums feel better. Aren't I just so adorable?" Of course you are my little princess.

After playing for a while, Jaedyn fell over and was done. Her face is saying here, "I'm so exhausted now. I think I'll take a little break from playing".

Jaedyn is getting funner and funner every day. The boys are really liking the fact that she sits up so they can play with her better. They can't wait until she starts crawling and walking around. Little do they know that she will terrorize them for all the times they get in her face and won't leave her alone. That will be a fun day to see how they react to her being mobile, but for now I'm going to enjoy her being immobile.

Arcade Fun!

This last weekend we had a great time with our family and some friends from Utah. Josh's friend Chris (he was Josh's best man at our wedding) was in town with his family for a mini vacation. We were excited to see them because it's been a long time since we have. We got together for dinner at the Excalibur and after went to the arcade that they have downstairs.

Jaron and Jantzen were sooo excited when they got there, why wouldn't they be...video games everywhere, that's heaven for them! First thing Jantzen saw was this big statue of Sponge Bob. Now, I'm not a fan of Sponge Bob at all and I don't allow my boys to watch the show (I'm such a mean mom), but I let Jantzen have his picture taken with him because he thought it was cool. I just love how he had to do exactly what Sponge Bob was doing.

Chris got some stuffed animals for the kids and they love them. Jantzen has named his "Boba Fett". I thought he was getting over the whole "Boba Fett" obsession, but I guess I was wrong.

The boys, including Josh, had a great time playing games. Jantzen had to get in some dancing action with "Boba Fett". They had fun playing air hockey. I think Jaron won, but I'm not for sure.

The boys gave their stuffed animals to Jaedyn to play with while they went to play more video games. She loved it! At first she didn't know what to think about them, but then she started having fun with them. I think when she was done they were a little wet from her chewing on them. She's so cute!

Before we left I wanted to get a picture of Josh with Chris. Right after I took it a security guard came up to me and whispered in my ear, telling me that I can't take any pictures on the casino floor. I'm surprised he didn't check my camera to make sure I didn't take pictures of anything I'm not supposed to.

We all had a good time hanging out with good friends. The boys had a blast and have already asked when they can go back to the arcade and play.

So Comfy

Our little Jaedyn is the cutest little baby with such a cute personality. She has recently graduated from sleeping in her swing all the time (her reflux is FINALLY going away) to just at nap time, but she still loves it!

Jaedyn is a major wiggle worm when she sleeps and it's the cutest thing to watch her. She has always had to have her face planted in the side of the swing or covered by her blanket, but then she started moving her whole body. Sometimes she will have her leg and arm dangling over the side of the swing...she always turns on her right side.

It doesn't look very comfortable to me, but she sleeps like a baby (hehe!) for hours this way, so it apparently is comfortable enough for her.

Jaedyn won't sleep in her crib all the time yet, and she's still in our room. Josh is having a hard time letting her go...okay, I am a little too. She's our last baby and it's kind of sad that she's growing up so fast, but I know that there's more fun times to come.
