Sometimes He Listens So Well...

When Jantzen is home by himself all day he usually will just play in the toy room. Sometimes I let him have friends over so he doesn't get bored, but no matter if it's just him or him with his friends the toy room always becomes a disaster area. It really looks like a tornado has hit (I think we might have too many toys). You can hardly walk anywhere without stepping on a toy or tripping on one. Josh usually is the one to do this, you would think he would learn to not go anywhere near the toy room when it looks like this. I stay away.

Anyway, poor Jaron is the one that gets to clean up the mess. Sometimes he helps out with making a mess, but most of the time it's just Jantzen. That's what he gets for being the big brother. He absolutely hates this being one of his chores, but hey, he's got to learn responsibility sometime, right? Jaron doesn't always like to listen to me or Josh or do what he's told when we tell him. He just ignores us and thinks we'll forget about it, hahaha! Like that's going to happen! I think I did the same thing when I was younger and my parents thought I had a hearing problem. I guess Jaron inherited that from me.

The other day Josh asked Jaron to clean the toy room because the mess was really bugging him. Jaron of course complained about it. Josh told him he wouldn't be able to play his video games until it was done, which made Jaron complain even more. He said it's not fair that Jantzen doesn't have to clean it up and he does when he didn't make the mess. He did have a valid case, Jantzen does do most of the damage. We have to remind Jaron that when he was Jantzen's age he didn't have to clean up everything, but now that he's older he has to learn to work. Josh felt bad that Jaron was so upset so he made him a deal. He told him he would only have to clean up half of the toy room now and the rest later and then he could play his games.

Apparently that was fine with Jaron, so he went right to work. Later, Josh went upstairs to check on his progress. He had me come up and see how well Jaron listened. I just had to laugh when I got up there. Jaron had literally cleaned only half of the toy room. Josh said Jaron did have a light saber on the floor dividing the toy room in half as a reference, but I think he picked it up before I got there to see it. He doesn't always listen this well. Oh how we love our Jar-Bear! He's so funny!

I love that he did exactly as Josh told him, too funny! I also love those chairs you have for the boys. Where did you get them?

Ha, ha! That's quite a literal take on cleaning up only half of the toy room!

Jaron did mind...half now, half later!! That's funny! What will they think of next? Hey and could you tell Josh the next time he gets his picture taken to smile...the "constipation" look isn't very appealing!! haha

I think you need some more toys in that room. I see a few crevices empty. I'd be happy to unload some of mine on you to fill in those gaps. :)

It is funny that he used a light saber to seperate the room. My sisters and I used to use tape so a light saber is much more practical.
