Jaron decided to get his gun ready to shoot while the other kids climbed the same mountain he just fell down. Luckily they didn't have any accidents, not even Jaedyn. Jantzen was gathering acorns all along the way (that's what's in his bag) to feed chipmunks. He thought if he gathered enough acorns that the chipmunks would come out and play with him and be his friend...silly kid!

Josh set up Diet Coke cans for Jaron to shoot and got his gun ready. He showed him how to use it and then it was Jaron's turn...

He did pretty good for never having shot a gun before. There was a 2 liter 7-Up bottle full of water that he was trying to knock over first. It took him a few shots, but he did hit it.
While the boys played, Jaedyn hung out with grandpa and showed off her mad counting skills...

After shooting several bb's at the cans, the boys had to check out the damage...

Then, Jaron decided to do some more shooting to try and knock over all the cans. Jantzen and Coleman sat and watched and it didn't take long for Jaedyn to join them. She liked doing everything they were...she wants to be like the big kids!

Josh brought up his gun and did a little shooting of his own...

After he was done shooting, Jantzen and Coleman went to find all the shells from his bullets (we didn't want to litter) and of course, Jaedyn had to go help too. She was fascinated by the ice on the mountain, but I wouldn't let her play on it because she had her jelly shoes on and I didn't want her to slip and get hurt.

Jaron let Jantzen and grandpa have a turn shooting his gun. I don't think Jantzen liked it very much...

Jaron shot off some more bb's before we decided to leave and I wish I would've recorded him shooting because he did so awesome! He shot down all the cans one by one without missing...he was so excited.

There was a little bit of drama while we were there, but it didn't involve any of our kids. It involved Josh and a golfer. Apparently, there's a golf course right above where we were shooting, but we didn't know that. One of the golfers came and yelled at us saying that one of Josh's bullets flew over his head (I highly doubt that). Josh said sorry and said his gun was put away, but the golfer didn't let it end there. He kept yelling, so Josh yelled right back. Long story short...the rangers came and took all our statements because they were told by the golf course club house that we had assault rifles that we were pointing at the golfers and threatening them and we were letting our kids shoot them (they were referring to Jaron's bb gun!?!?)...none of that was true. Luckily we didn't get charged with anything because we had a legal right to shoot there, but it took forever for them to let us know that!
Later that night the kids all made their own mini pizza's for dinner (the adults had Cafe Rio). I caught Jaron shoving a handful of cheese into his mouth...

After dinner, we all hung out and let our food settle. I love all the pizza sauce stains on the boys' faces...

A little later we lit off some fireworks...

Jaron and Jantzen didn't want to put their jackets on, but opted for blankets instead because they were "freezing"!

Jaedyn enjoyed the fireworks, but not getting her picture taken...

I thought she'd be better if I took one with her, but nope, she didn't cooperate with me either...

We went back inside after fireworks and warmed up. Josh's mom and sister started setting out a bunch of treats to snack on for the rest of the night and I think Jaedyn was in heaven...she loves candy! She quickly made her way onto a stool right in front of the good stuff and that's where she stayed for most of the night...

She wasn't alone though. My other sweet tooth quickly joined her...

The rest of the night was spent playing games and laughing. Josh and Jaedyn fell asleep on the couch early (I forgot to get a picture), but the rest of us stayed awake and enjoyed ourselves. We all had a good time...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
