Spooky Dinner...#3

Last night the kids got to enjoy another Halloween "spooky" dinner. This week we had "mummy pizza"...

..."vampire bones and blood" (Jantzen requested these)...

...and for dessert we had chocolate "graves"...

The kids, like every week, really enjoyed it all. They loved the fact that they each got their own "mummy".

Jantzen had a few issues eating his "mummy's" bandages, but he still enjoyed it...

This week I think dessert was Jaron's favorite part because he LOVES chocolate, especially brownies!

Jaedyn decided to be "girly" and eat her chocolate tombstone very daintily...

It was another successful Halloween dinner! Only one more week left.

Funny Girl!

Last night we all went outside to enjoy the nice weather we've been having here lately and while Josh and I were sitting out there we got to watch some fun entertainment. Jaedyn came outside with Jantzen's socks and Jaron's shoes on...she looked so cute! She proceeded to sing us a song that she was making up as she went and also did a little dancing for us...

Photobucket

The dance involved a little hair pulling...

...and a branch from our tree...

The is Jaedyn at the end of her song and dance...as a tree standing still.

This little girl cracks us all up all the time, she's so funny and whitty at her young age. I love that she loves to entertain us all the time!

Where's Jaedyn?

Today the kids had no school because of Columbus Day, so we decided to spend the day at the park. We met up with Nena and her kids at Subway to get our lunch, then we went to 7-Eleven to get some drinks, and then we went to the dinosaur park. It was such a nice day to be outside, the weather was perfect...not too hot or cold.

The kids quickly ate their lunch, then they took off to play. One of the games they were playing was "hide-n-seek". At one point in the game Jaedyn came over to the table and climbed on top. Then she proceeded to surround herself with all of our drinks. She said, "Shhhh, I'm hiding!". It was kind of cute, especially because the big kids would come by her and say, "Where's Jaedyn? We can't find her", and she would just giggle.

Can you find Jaedyn in this picture???

Jaedyn did pop up after a few minutes to get a drink. I guess if you're going to play "hide-n-seek" it's good to play near a bunch of drinks, you know, in case you get thirsty all of a sudden.

I love my kids and their fun personalities!

Spooky Dinner...#2

Tonight we had another one of our Halloween "spooky dinners". Jaedyn was so helpful with me earlier in the day making dessert. Well, mostly she licked the spoon clean for me, then she puckered up to give me a kiss...

Photobucket

 I politely declined her offer.

On tonight's menu was "bloody monster guts" with "monster eyeballs"...

Photobucket

 ..."witch fingers"...

Photobucket

 ..."spiders" for dessert...

Photobucket

...and we washed it all down with some "worm filled blood"...

Photobucket

The kids all really enjoyed this dinner...

Photobucket

Especially the spiders for dessert. They had a little too much fun while they ate them...my kids are so cheesy!

Logandale Trails Fun...

We were finally able to go on a camping trip this weekend. We headed up to Logandale Trails, one of Josh's favorite places to ride his dirt bike. We met up with our friends, the Ashby's, for some fun and the kids were really excited. We found a nice spot to set up our camp, it was so beautiful...

By the time we were all set up it was already dark, so Josh got a fire going and we started cooking our tin foil dinners. Jaedyn was mesmerized by the fire...

Photobucket

After dinner, the kids did a little hiking in the dark. I wouldn't let them go too far because they couldn't see anything. They found a little cave just above our camp to play in and spent most of the night there...

Jaedyn borrowed her daddy's headlight so she could see better. I think she looked super cute with it on her head...

Photobucket

After we had some smores we went to bed. It was pretty warm all night and all the kids slept good...Josh and I didn't. We sleep better when it's cold outside.

The next morning we got up and Josh made bacon and eggs for breakfast and we had some blueberry muffins on the side. After breakfast the kids took off playing and hiking. We borrowed Nena's four wheeler and that's the first thing Jaedyn wanted to do when she woke up. This little girl was born to ride!...

Photobucket

She pretended to give her brothers a ride...

Photobucket

After the boys' ride was over, Jaedyn was nice enough to pose for a picture...what a cutie she is!

Photobucket

Josh took off on his dirt bike for a ride along with Gregg on his four wheeler and I stayed back at camp with the kids. Jaron, Jace, and Jantzen went hiking...

...while Jaedyn pouted because I wouldn't let her go as high as her brothers. Just look at that sad face with that lip hanging out...I'm such a mean mom!

Photobucket

After some hiking, the boys had to spend a little time playing video games...I didn't let them for very long. I made them enjoy the outdoors.

Photobucket

After lunch we found this little guy laying on this rock by our picnic table and we thought he was dead because he wasn't moving, even when the kids tried to move him with a stick. Jaedyn kept saying how sad it was that he was dead, then all of a sudden he moved off the rock and then flew away. Jaedyn was so excited that he wasn't dead after all.

Photobucket

Jantzen decided it was his turn to go for a ride on the four wheeler, he thought he could drive it himself...

Photobucket

...too bad for him we wouldn't let him. Instead, I took him for a ride. We went for a long ride on some trails and it was a lot of fun! I really need to get a four wheeler of my own.

Photobucket

When Jantzen and I got back from our ride, I took Jaedyn for a little ride, then we all hung out for a little bit.

Jaedyn was very insistent on wearing my hat, she loves that thing. She looks super cute in it, so I let her wear it all the time.

After lunch, Jaron took me for a ride on the four wheeler while he followed Jace and Gregg. It was a little scary riding on the back with Jaron driving. He did good, but some of the turns he did really freaked me out! We got stuck a couple times to the point where I thought we were going to tip over, but luckily we never did. After we got back from our ride, we all took a ride up to the petroglyphs. We could only ride the four wheelers so far, then we had to hike the rest of the way. They were so cool to see up close...

We explored a little bit by the petroglyphs and then we headed back to the four wheelers to go back to camp. Jaedyn was getting tired of walking, so she hitched a ride back...

Photobucket

...then she got ready to ride...

Photobucket

When we got back to our camp, we hung out a little bit more. The kids all played "capture the flag" for a while and really enjoyed themselves. It was so relaxing being up there and away from the city.

Before it got late, we packed up and headed home. I'm glad we weren't camping by ourselves because the battery in our Tahoe completely died on us. That would have made for a miserable weekend. So, when we got home, unpacked, and showered, we headed to the store to get a new battery. Lucky for us our dead battery had a warranty that still had another two weeks on it before it expired...yay!!

It was nice to finally go on a camping trip as a family. The kids had fun and so did I. Hopefully next summer we'll be able to go camping more often.

Spooky Dinner...#1

Tonight we started back up with our annual "Halloween Spooky Dinners". I started doing these dinners last year and the kids loved them so much that I decided to make it a yearly thing.

The kids have been asking all week what our first spooky dinner was going to be. I hadn't really thought about what I was going to make first, so I took requests from them. Jaron picked "mummy dogs" because they were his favorite last year, so that's what I made along with some "human mouths" and "pumpkin poop"...

Photobucket

Here's a closeup of the "mummy dogs"...

Photobucket

Jantzen's request for dessert was "dirt and worms"...

Photobucket

Jaron and Jantzen really enjoyed the "mummy dogs" and Jaedyn's favorite was the "pumpkin poop"...she's an avid Cheetos fan...

Photobucket

When it came time to eat some dirty worms, the kids did a little playing around with them first. Jaron didn't actually eat this worm, he hates anything fruity or chewy...he's a weird child.

Photobucket

Jantzen and Jaedyn, on the other hand, LOVE everything fruity and chewy. They thoroughly enjoyed their worms...

Everyone loved dinner and now the kids are already asking what's going to be on the menu for next week...you'll just have to wait and see!
