Goodbye Summer

Summer has officially ended at our house. Josh took our swimming pool down and threw it away...it has served its purpose for the last two summers (not bad for only paying $22.50 for it brand new...thank you Walmart). When the pool goes away, the trampoline goes back to its rightful place in the rocks. Before we moved it, Jaron and Jantzen had to enjoy it a little. They relaxed and ate Popsicles (it was still warm enough) while staring at the stars, Jaron loves space and everything that goes with it.

While the Jaron and Jantzen were eating their Popsicles they noticed something flying over them...it was some bats. Luckily they weren't afraid of them. In fact, they thought they were cool, that is until I told them they were going to come and bite their necks and turn them into vampires. I know, I'm mean, but I love to tease them. I don't think it really scared them though, so they're fine.

After observing nature, Jaron and Janzten enjoyed a little bit of brotherly wrestling. They have to be very careful as they play so they don't fall in a hole. So far this summer we have lost 16 springs on the trampoline, and counting. As you can see, it has seen better days. It, too, has served it's time in the Goddard backyard and in the hot Vegas sun for the last five years...I think it's time for a new one.

I'm so happy that the weather is finally starting to cool off so the kids and I can go outside and play more without melting. It will be nice to enjoy the backyard without having to get in a swim suit.
