Pumpkin Carving!

Today we carved our pumpkins so we could take them to our ward trunk or treat tonight. Josh helped prep the pumpkins so the kids could gut them. Jaedyn was fascinated with all of it until it was time for her to scrape out the insides, then she thought it was disgusting!

She just poked at it and hoped that everything would come out on its own, but it didn't.

Jaron got right in scraping out the insides of his pumpkin, it didn't bother him at all...

He even tried to sneak in a little snack...

Jantzen, on the other hand, thought scraping out pumpkins was the most disgusting thing ever!

He didn't want his hand to touch any part of it. If it did touch, he got all disgusted and would make vomiting noises...he's so dramatic sometimes!

Since Jaedyn wouldn't clean out her pumpkin, Josh helped her with it. I love how she's giving me gagging faces as I take pictures.

Josh actually ended up helping all the kids clean out their pumpkins. Check out that disgusted look on Jaedyn's face...that's hilarious!

After all the pumpkins were cleaned out, it was time to carve them. Jaedyn picked out a Hello Kitty pattern this year...

She was very helpful when it came time for carving...

Jaron picked out a guitar for his pumpkin this year because he's taking guitar at school and he's really into playing them right now...

He traced his pattern and then Josh helped him cut it out...

Usually the kids have their pumpkins carved to match their Halloween costumes, but this year Jantzen was the only one. He picked out a skull because he is going to be a skeleton...

He helped me outline his pattern and then I cut it out for him...

This is the final results of all our hard work. I think they turned out pretty good. The kids can't wait to see them lit up tonight.
