She's a Climber Now...

I know this day has been coming for a long time, but I wish it would've waited a little longer...Jaedyn is now climbing on and in everything!! She's loving the fact that she can climb and I think she thoroughly enjoys it. She's so proud of herself when she accomplishes her goal.

"Hey everyone, I'm a big girl now!" Does this mean I need to get rid of her baby chairs now, because I don't want to.

One of Jaedyn's favorite things to climb in is the Wiggles car that we've had since Jaron was two. She gets so excited and happy to play in this thing. She hasn't quite figured out how to move around in it by herself yet, but that's what older brothers are for...right? She'll learn quickly how to move around, then we'll be in even bigger trouble!

"Yay me!"

I think maybe Jaedyn's had enough of the pictures here or maybe she's just frustrated because she can't get the car to move. In any case, I love her facial expression in this picture.

There is a sad story that goes along with this car and this picture of my sweet little princess...

Last week while Jaedyn was playing, she decided she wanted to climb in the car. I didn't think anything of it because she does that all the time. I was doing a couple things around the house and when I turned around I saw Jaedyn standing on the seat in the car on the tile. At first I thought, "She's so cute", but that quickly changed when I saw her reach for the water cooler. I feared something was going to happen, and it did. The car moved backwards on the tile as she was leaning forward to play with the water. I saw her start to fall and I ran over to catch her. I didn't grab her body fast enough, but I was able to grab her by the waist of her pants. Unfortunately, she did hit her head on the tile, but I know if I hadn't grabbed her pants that she would've gotten hurt a lot worse. I kept an eye on her all day and she seemed to be fine. I'm sure she had a massive headache, but she never complained. She's such a tough little cookie!

Jaedyn did get a massive goose egg on her head that you can see in this picture (it was taken soon after she fell). Luckily it didn't get too big or nasty. It quickly went yellow and is almost not noticeable anymore. I really hope she's not trying to be like her brothers and get a scar on her forehead like them.

I don't really think Jaedyn learned her lesson through all of this. I have caught her trying to stand up in the car again and have quickly stopped her. I fear there may be more injuries in the future with her climbing expeditions, I just hope they are minor.

Power Point on School Safety

Last Friday Jaron presented the power point he made on school safety to Jantzen's kindergarten class. He has been working so hard on this in his G.A.T.E. class and was so excited to show it to the kindergartners. Jaron did so good at keeping it a secret from Jantzen until Friday morning.

Jaron did an awesome job teaching the kids how to be safe at school. Jantzen's teacher had Jaron show them twice so they could remember everything.

All the kids loved having Jaron in their class and asked if he could come back again and do another power point for them. He said he's definitely going to do it again because he loves it. I'm so proud of him and all his hard work he does in G.A.T.E. It makes me happy that Jantzen has a good role model for a big brother. One day I hope to see him in G.A.T.E. too.

How To Train Your "Jantzen"

Last weekend Josh took the kids to buy "How To Train Your Dragon". At the store they had this big display for the movie that kids can take pictures with, so Josh got one with Jantzen...Jaron was being a party pooper and wouldn't do it.

I think the picture was pretty cute and so was the movie, the boys loved it!

My little Jantzen is wild and crazy like a dragon is, so if anyone can give me pointers on how to train him, that would be greatly appreciated!

Little Miss Cheese Face

Isn't this a face you just want to kiss? I think so, even with the cheese all over it. Jaedyn is a lover of Velveeta Shells and Cheese and it shows all over her face. It is one of the only things I can get her to eat, and this is what she looks like when she's all done...

I wish I could get away with having food all over my face when I'm done eating and still look super cute like Jaedyn.

Savannah's Baby Shower

Last Saturday Lara and I threw a baby shower for our sweet bestie, Savannah. After much confusion and changes about the location of the shower, and almost having to have it at the hospital because of circumstances that were not preventable, we ended up having it at Savannah's house. This was a much needed social date for Savannah since a lot of her time lately has been spent in the hospital.

We decorated for the shower in green, blue, and brown to match the colors of Konner's room. I think everything turned out so cute (maybe it's because those are my favorite colors).

We hung up a clothesline with some of Konner's baby clothes...

We enjoyed some yummy food that consisted of Jimmy John's sandwiches (courtesy of Tanya), jello salad, fruit, and chips...

Savannah got a lot of cute gifts from all the girls that came...

I made this diaper cake as a gift from me and Lara...

And after opening gifts and playing a game, we all enjoyed this yummy cake made of chocolate and chocolate mousse filling...it was so good!

I think everything turned out good for Savannah's shower and I'm so glad Lara and I were able to do this for her. It was a much needed social gathering for a sweet girl that has had a hard pregnancy.

Maybe She's Not So Picky Afterall

Last weekend we went to St. George to spend time with some of our family. When we got there it was obvious that my kids needed to eat lunch, especially Jaedyn. She quickly found Baxter's food and water and proceeded to play in it. I thought that was pretty harmless until she started eating it. Can you say "disgusting"?

Here she is just chewing away on some yummy dog food, NOT! It has a lot of good nutrients in it, doesn't it?

She obviously didn't think it was that bad, just check out the smile on her face. If you look closely in her mouth you can see a piece of dog food that she seems to be enjoying very much. Have I mentioned before that my kids are a little strange at times? (They get that from their dad, you know.)

After Jaedyn was done chewing Baxter's food, I guess she needed something to wash it down with. I tried getting her a drink in her sippy cup, but I wasn't fast enough...she found Baxter's water and thought it would be a refreshing drink instead. She quickly stuck her hand in his water and then licked it off her hand.

So, being the good mom I am, I made her stop after that...I think she had enough or maybe it was just me having seen enough! I probably should have stopped her sooner, not that I didn't try, but she is a very determined little girl and she works very hard to get what she wants.

Jaron's First Cell Phone

Yesterday Josh and I broke down and decided to get Jaron his very own cell phone. I know, he's a little young to have one, I was 18 before I had my own, but we were already planning on getting him one when he started middle school in a couple years. Our cell phone company is running a promotion right now where kids are free until 2012, which is a great deal and it will be super cheap for him after that.

Jaron had no idea that we got him a phone because Josh got an early Christmas present (his own new fancy phone) and he thought the bag was just Josh's stuff. When he opened it, well, you can see the excitement on his face...

Here's a close up look at Jaron's new phone, pretty cool huh?

With Jaron having a cell phone comes a lot of responsibility on his end. He already got the lecture from us about all the rules that go along with this privilege. It will be nice to have something fun to hold over his head if he's not listening or doing what he's supposed to be doing, plus it will give us some peace of mind knowing that he will have a way to get a hold of us in case of an emergency. That, to me, is worth it!

Binky Replacement...

Jaedyn got a new animal puzzle for her birthday that has knobs on each piece. She didn't seem too thrilled about it when she got it until she figured out a fun new way to play with it. And here it is...

That's right, she's using it as her binky. She has been crawling all around the house with one of these puzzle pieces in her mouth. Maybe it feels good on her gums because she's teething up a storm these days!

She will occasionally stop to check out what's on TV, but when she finds there's nothing good on, she'll continue to chew...silly girl!

Jaedyn's real binky will be so sad to see she has a replacement for it, but don't worry Ms. Binky-kins, she still loves you and will chew on you again really soon!
