My Little Tiger-Monkey!

My little Jaedybug has so much personality. Today I had to take some pictures at the school for the "Tiger of the Month" awards and Jaedyn always has to be my little model before I can take any of the kids' pictures. I guess she's just practicing for when she gets chosen as "Tiger of the Month". She only has one more year before she starts going to school with her big brother Jantzen.

Later on we had to go to Jaron's school to pick up his carpool. While we wait for him to come out, we just hang out and play around. Today Jaedyn decided she was really going to "hang out"...

Luckily she doesn't weigh very much so nothing broke. Did I forget to mention that she made monkey noises as she was swinging?!?! She also said, "Look mom, I'm a monkey like Jansa!". Silly girl!!

My Dancing Princess

Today was Jaedyn's second dance class and she was so excited because I let her pick out an "official" dance outfit to wear every week. This is what she picked out and I think she looks absolutely adorable in it...

I love that she's posing for me!

I took a few more pictures of her in class today because she was in her new dance outfit. I think she's a natural when it comes to dancing...

This is one of Jaedyn's favorite things to do in dance class, the stretching. This is when they get to make "pizzas" with their own choice of toppings. Jaedyn always has Cheetos on her pizza...yummy!

Jaedyn also loves "mat" time. I feel bad today because I put a big black flower clip in her hair so she'd look cute and it got in the way when they were doing their tumbling on the mat. I guess she won't be wearing hair bows to dance class anymore.

Josh came to watch Jaedyn dance today and that made her so happy. The only bad thing about us watching her though, is that she pays a lot of attention to us instead of Ms. Kim, so I think I'll sit in the lobby and wait for her from now on so she can learn more dancing steps.

I can't wait to see her dance in her recital in June, she'll be so cute!

Jantzen's 1st Power Point

Jantzen's teacher has been having some of the advanced kids in class do extra projects every month. They are usually supposed to be on a book they've read, but this month she had them choose a president to research.

Jantzen chose President George W. Bush to do his project on because that's who was president the year he was born. He found all the required information that his teacher listed and then he decided to present it as a power point. I hate to admit this, but I had no idea how to do a power point because I've never had to do one. Luckily for Jantzen, Jaron knew all about them because he's had to do several of them when he was in GATE. So, Jaron taught Jantzen how to input all the information and how to add animation to his power point.

Jantzen presented his power point to his class today and he did an awesome job! His teacher loved it and he was the only one who did his project this way, so his classmates thought it was cool.

(Sorry, this photo is a little fuzzy because I had to take it with my iPod in the dark so I wouldn't distract anyone)

BTW...Jantzen got an A+ on this project. Way to go buddy!!

Final Midnight Movie Run

Last night, or this morning actually, Josh and I went to the final DVD release party for the Twilight movies. Breaking Dawn Part 2 came out at midnight and I've been to all of the DVD release parties.  This time I had no one to go with, so Josh fulfilled his husband duties and we made it a "date". While we waited in line some store employees did a movie trivia, which I did answer some of the questions correctly and I even helped them come up with a bonus question. There were cupcakes for everyone to enjoy, but this time I was good and both of us stayed away from them.

Midnight came and I bought my movie. As cheesy as it might be, I still love these movies and books!

Josh and I attempted to get a picture of us to document this awesome milestone in our dating history, but as you can see we weren't very successful in getting the DVD all the way in the picture with us. It took us a few tries before we just gave up. That's okay I guess, it was fun taking all these pictures in the parking lot while complete strangers stared at us probably thinking we are too old to be doing this.

Now Josh gets to watch the movie with me because he hasn't seen it yet...lucky him!!!

Jaron's Science Fair

Last night we went to Jaron's school for his science fair. Since he's in accelerated science he has to participate in it as part of his semester grade. The topic of his project was, "How fast can an ice cube melt in sunlight".

He spent eight weeks researching this. His research included putting an ice cube out on the sidewalk in the same spot every Wednesday and Friday at the same time and timing how long it took until it melted. After his research period was over, he put together his board and turned it in...he got an "A" on it!

When we got to the school, we found his board before we checked out all of the other projects. Here's some pictures I took of his board while it was on display...

Why is it so difficult for an 11 year old to be serious in a picture?!?!

I'm proud of Jaron for all the time and work he put into his science project, I think it turned out good. He didn't win anything, but he didn't care. All he cared about was the fact that he got an "A" on it. Keep up the good work Jaron!!

Dancing Diva...

Jaedyn has been wanting to take dance lessons, so today I took her to her first dance class at Hi-Def Dance Academy. When we got there she met her dance teacher, Miss Kim, and another girl named Sara whom she quickly became friends with. Since this was her very first time in a dance class, and I didn't know how she'd like it, I didn't buy her any fancy dance clothes. She picked her outfit out of clothes she already had, and she looked cute in it!

Miss Kim took Jaedyn and Sara in the dance studio to start learning while I stayed outside, looking through the window. I tried to get pictures, but I didn't want to use the flash because I knew that would be a huge distraction, so this is the best I got from a distance...

Jaedyn looked like she'd been doing dance for a while, she was really good at it! I love how she would get right up on her tippy toes...she's going to have some awesome calves after this!

Miss Kim taught the girls a lot of dance moves and did some playing with them too. They all seemed to be having a blast!

I think Jaedyn's favorite part was when they got to roll around and do somersaults on the mat...

My little dancing diva had to pose a little for me when class was all over...

 ...and blow me some kisses...

Jaedyn had so much fun in dance today, so I think we'll let her continue coming. She's a natural when it comes to dance and I can tell that she really enjoys it. She's so stinkin' cute while she's dancing too!

Reading Week Fun!

This week is Nevada Reading Week and Jantzen's school does a lot of celebrating for it. One of the things the kids got to enjoy was story time with Ronald McDonald. The kids were so excited to see him, except for Jaedyn. This was as close as she wanted to get to him...

 photo DSCN6124.jpg

She eventually warmed up and by the time he was done reading all of his books, she decided to be brave and go up to say "hi" to him...

 photo DSCN6136.jpg

Jantzen's class was lucky because they were one of only three classes that Ronald went to visit personally before he left. Ronald read the class a few more stories before heading off to the next class.

I think Jaedyn had had enough of story time with Ronald because all she wanted to do was paint. Jantzen's teacher, Ms. Myers, is really good about letting Jaedyn paint, color, and play with puzzles while she's there.

Before Ronald had to leave, I got some fun pictures of him with Jantzen's class...

The kids really had a good time hanging out with Ronald McDonald.

Jantzen's class also got into the reading week spirit and decided to decorate their classroom door. They chose the book "Green Eggs and Ham" as their theme...

Jantzen painted both of these "Cat in the Hats"...

...and he was asked to draw the train from the book...

He did an awesome job on all of it, especially the train!

Funny Girl!

This little lady really knows how to make me laugh! She has this new thing she does with her hands. She holds all her fingers together tightly, then continually pushes her fingertips on both hands together and makes weird faces the whole time she's doing it. I don't know where or how she came up with it, but it makes me laugh every time she does it.

Today she sported this hat and glasses and it made it even funnier!

I LOVE THIS GIRL!!!
