Not a Good Day!

Last Tuesday was a bad day for Josh and the Rodeo. On his way home from work, Josh was rear ended on the freeway. He was driving at about 10-15 miles an hour because of slow traffic ahead of him and some lady, who wasn't paying attention to the traffic in front of her, slammed into the back of the Rodeo at about 50-55 miles an hour. Luckily, there were two cops sitting on the side of the freeway right where it happened and they saw the whole thing.

This is the second time since we've lived here that Josh has been rear ended on the freeway. He doesn't have the best of luck with the irresponsible drivers in this town.

The Rodeo was lucky that it didn't suffer more body damage, thanks to the receiver hitch and the fact that it's an SUV and not a car. The other lady's car, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. After she rear ended Josh, she herself got rear ended by a another car that wasn't paying attention. This is what her car ended up looking like (this is the reason I will NEVER drive a small car again, only a big SUV)...


Josh was hit so hard that several things happened to both him and the Rodeo. He was on the phone with Jaron at the time he was hit and his phone flew into the back seat while his head was slammed against the head rest, his glasses were knocked off his head into the back (and they got broken), his Diet Coke spilled everywhere, his sun glass holder that is normally on the visor was all the way in the back of the Rodeo, some things in the way back of the Rodeo were knocked out of place, his seat was thrown back (and now doesn't work very well), and the outer part of the dash was thrown off. He was hit so hard, just look how crazy that is...


After Josh got home, I took some more pictures of the damage...



And after driving the Rodeo home, Josh noticed several more things that are now wrong with it besides the obvious body damage. Now, the drivers side door falls down a little when it's opened, the drivers seat doesn't stay in one place, and the Rodeo itself doesn't drive as good as it used to...it makes noises.

The lady that hit Josh claims she has insurance, but didn't have any of her information on her at the time of the accident, so as of right now we're not sure if she really does have any. I'm praying that she does because we don't have the money to fix the Rodeo again, we've already spent a lot of money on it this year.

Josh has been in a lot of pain with his neck and back since the accident. He's been going to a chiropractor the last several days and will continue to go this week. I don't know how well it's working, but I hope that he can get better soon. Now we get to play a waiting game until we can find out if there's going to be insurance to cover Josh's doctor's appointments and to pay for the Rodeo to get fixed. I really hate being a grown up sometimes!
