Ward Christmas Party

Last Saturday we had our annual ward Christmas party. I volunteered to decorate a table for dinner and this is what I did (all so random)...

I know, it's so not fancy or coordinated in any way, shape, or form, but it was a last minute thing for me and I didn't want to use any of my "nice" decorations just in case something got broken. However, I did add some chocolates to the table and they were a big hit! One of my friends' little boy told me he wanted to sit at my table because of the chocolate. It was cute how he just sat there and stared at it until it was time to eat dinner.

Dinner started and my boys, plus a few of their friends, dug right in! There's Jaron with his friend Keagan and his cute little brother Camden (the one waiting so patiently to eat the chocolates off the table), then there's my crazy Jantzen (with a mouth full of food) and his friend Dallin. I think it's so funny how Jantzen uses a fork to eat his roll...he's such a silly kid!

Jaedyn had fallen asleep right before we got to the church, so she wasn't in any mood to eat any dinner, but, when Josh brought over a plate of yummy desserts she woke right up and wanted some. Her favorite was a chocolate and peanut butter treat. However, the chocolate was the only part she ate.

After Jaedyn got her chocolate fix, she was happy. Here she's telling me a story, but unfortunately I don't remember what it was about. I just love watching her facial expressions and listening to her chat away in her sweet little voice, it's the cutest thing ever!

Jaedyn had to show a little bit of her playful side after her story time. She crawled under our table and proceeded to get into my purse. She loves the calculator I have in there, she pretends it's her cell phone. She thinks she's being sneaky when she gets it out, but I know exactly what she's doing.

After dinner was over, the kids were called into the primary room to get ready for their Nativity story. Earlier in the week my boys told me they wanted to dress up for it, but at the last minute they didn't want to, so I didn't bring anything for them. They did decide right before the program started that they'd dress up. There were little star garland halo's for the little girls to be angels. It was a bit of a chore to get Jaedyn to wear one, but in the end I was successful getting it on her head.

I tried getting a picture of Jaedyn with her friend Rylee, but it was a difficult task with her, she still wasn't happy about me winning the war with the halo. This was the best picture I got of the two of them. Jaedyn looks like a deer in headlights, but she still was the cutest little angel there!

Don't let this super cute little innocent face fool you...she's quite the little diva!

Jaron and Jantzen decided to be wise men instead of shepherds. Don't you love their outfits, especially Jantzen's? He's a "smooth like butta" kind of wise man.

When it came time to start the program, this was how excited Jaedyn was...

Needless to say, she didn't participate in the Nativity after all. I did all that battling to get a halo on her for nothing!

The boys were really good sports about being in the program. They walked up on stage when it was their turn and they sat very quietly...that's kind of an unusual thing for them to do. It makes me happy to know that they have respect for Jesus enough to behave while the Christmas story was being read.

After the program was over, all the kids got a gold star ornament with a candy cane...they loved it.

It was a fun night full of fun conversations with family and friends. We're all so blessed to have each other and to be able to share this wonderful time of year together.

We have our ward Christmas party this Saturday. Laney is suppose to be and angel. I am sure it will be a chore to get Laney to wear anything on her head too.
