Since the kids have a week long break from school for spring break I decided to take them to do some fun things instead of just sitting home. Today we went with some friends to the "Lied Discovery Children's Museum". We've never been there before, but have heard it's fun, so the kids were excited to check it out. There was so much for them to explore and play around with...
Jaedyn and Casen found Curious George...
Jaedyn and Casen found Curious George...

My own little monkey (Jantzen) found a tree behind George to climb...

Jantzen found many more things to explore when we first got there. He found a statue of someone as grumpy as he can be, a scope that shows the buildings across the street from the museum, and a toilet for a potty break (no, he didn't really use it, but it was funny watching him pretend)...

There were mini tornado's...

...and seats to help you climb...

The kids enjoyed hurricane force winds inside this tube. Jaron didn't like his hair getting messed up at first and Jantzen didn't know what to think until after a little while in it, then he liked it. Unfortunately right before their time in the tube was over, someone pulled the fire alarm and we all had to evacuate for about 20 minutes before we were allowed back inside.

The kids all loved playing with the bubbles...

Jaron and Jantzen found things to help them practice their funny faces...

While Jaedyn really enjoyed this slide. She played on it for about 20 minutes.

Then, she discovered these balls that you stick in a tube and air carries it up and through a maze and back out. This was a source of a lot of play for her. It didn't take long for her brothers to join her in the fun. They were all fascinated by it.

Jaron took Jaedyn on a ride and she was so cute trying to help him pull them up...

The last thing the kids discovered at the museum was a building area where they had to piece together tubes to make a ball drop, fly into them, and go through the maze they created. Jaron and Jantzen spent a lot of time on this. After several tries to get things to work out, they got the ball to fly in and they were so happy.

We snapped a quick picture of us in front of the sign before we left, then we headed to our next destination for the day.

Our next stop was to the "Old Mormon Fort". We've never been here either, so this was also a new experience for us.
When we got there, the kids quickly found the old living quarters and they did some exploring...

The boys all started a game of tag/war which kept them occupied for a while...

Jaedyn played around with her shadow...

...and threw rocks in the pond...

A lot of exploring and playing was done here. It was cute watching Jaedyn follow the big boys around, trying to join in everything they were doing...

Jantzen found some sticks that became a favorite item to play with while we were there...

Don't you love his pose for me?...

The boys had to have a "lightsaber" fight with their sticks before we left. I wonder if the pioneers had "lightsaber" fights too.

I can't remember who this lady was, but Jaedyn and Casen just had to have their picture take together with her, so I obliged...

Here I am with my cute friend Mary who hung out with me all day while the kids played (yes, I'm really tall and I was wearing boots with a heel)...

The kids wouldn't let us leave until we got our picture taken with this memorial just outside the fort, so here we are, crazy wind and all...

My kids had so much fun exploring and playing today. I'm so glad that I get to be a stay home mom and that I can take my kids to do fun stuff like this with good friends. We're definitely going to have to come back for more fun.
