For our last day of spring break, we took the kids to Sea World. The last time we went there was when Jantzen was just a baby, so the kids were excited to go.
When we first got there, the kids got to meet Shamu...
...then we went to this pool of water where little fish eat the dead skin off your hands. Jaron and Josh were the only ones who would actually do this. The thought of little fish eating away at my hands kind of creeps me out, but Jaron thought it was pretty cool.
Jaedyn was our guide for the day. She had to constantly check the park map to see where we were going next.
The first rides we went on were the "Elmo's Flying Fish". As kiddie as this ride it, Jaron and Jantzen had a good time on them...so did Jaedyn and her daddy.
As we were walking to our next destination we came across this big guy...
...Jaron was the only one who would touch him.
The first show we went to see was "Pet's Rule". There were so many animals doing funny things. It was so cute and the kids really enjoyed it.
After the pet show, Josh and Jaron attempted to climb these ropes for a prize...
...but they both failed! The guy working it made it look so easy when he demonstrated it, but it wasn't.
We saw some flamingos on our way through the park. I'm wondering why they're always portrayed as being pink when they're more of a coral/orange color...but they are fun to watch. I think I'd get tired standing on one leg for as long as they do.
We then headed over to the Shamu Stadium to watch the "One Ocean" show. It's no longer called the "Shamu Show", I'm not sure why.
We took a bunch of pictures before the show started...
We were able to get pretty close to the water, but we didn't want to be really close. We were at the top of the "splash zone"...we didn't really want to get wet.
We had a great view and the show was pretty awesome! Jaedyn was amazed at all the jumping and tricks that the killer whales did...
The kids had to compare themselves to the size of dolphins...
...and got bit along the way...
We stopped to look at some dolphins playing in the water...
Josh and Jaron went on the "Manta" roller coaster. I'm terrified of them, so I stayed with Jantzen and Jaedyn and watched them fly by...
Jaron loved it!
Josh took Jaron and Jaedyn on the "Sea World SkyTower" while Jantzen and I stayed on the ground. I'm terrified of heights and I think Jantzen might be too...poor kid, it sucks!
We then headed over to the Dolphin Stadium for the "Blue Horizons" show. This show included dolphins, birds, and pilot whales. We were in the higher part of the splash zone again, so we didn't really get wet...thank goodness!
The kids loved it!
The last show we saw was the "Sea Lions Live". We thought this was the best show at Sea World because it was so funny and entertaining.
Jaedyn loved the dancing because the sea lions were dancing to "Gangnam Style".
We got to see turtles...
...and sharks...
The kids thought this display of shark teeth was pretty cool...
We went to see the penguins. They were behind glass that was fogging up, so it was kind of hard to see them.
We did get to see some outside though.
We went on the "Wild Arctic" ride, that always makes me a little nauseous, but was still fun.
After the ride we got to see some beluga whales, which Jaedyn absolutely loved...
...then the kids explored some ice caves...
The boys had a blast on this ride. Unfortunately, Jaedyn was too short to ride it.
Jaedyn went on "Atlantis" with her daddy instead. The boys were too chicken to go on it, so they just watched. We made the mistake of standing right at the bottom (I was hoping to get a good close-up picture) and we almost got soaked...Jantzen loved that!
Jaedyn had a blast on this ride, she wanted to go again...she loved the getting wet part.
We did a couple more rides before it was time to go...
We couldn't leave before enjoying some churros...
Jantzen didn't want a churro, so both him and Josh shared a huge turkey leg...
Jaron had to let the fish clean his hands one last time...
We let each one of the kids pick out a souvenir before we left. Jaron got a dolphin fleece blanket (the Shamu ones were all sold out), Jantzen picked out a super hero stuffed penguin, and Jaedyn picked out a stuffed beluga whale that she named "Candy". She really loved seeing those whales.
We all had such a fun day at Sea World, I'm so happy we were able to come with the kids. It's fun seeing their faces when they're happy and having a good time.
