Jaron had a multiple school track meet today that he was pretty excited for. He signed up to compete in the 100 meter and 400 meter races.
Here's Jaron with some of his fellow track team members and his coach, Mr. Ferre (who also just happens to be his school counselor)...
The whole thing was supposed to start at 4pm, but when we got there, they were still setting things up. The races Jaron signed up for were scheduled earlier in the meet because he had a YM camp out to go to and had to be to that at 6pm.
Well, for some reason the people in charge of the track meet were having issues with one of the cameras that is used to record racers as they cross the finish line. Instead of letting racers go ahead and run the races that didn't require that camera, they made everyone wait until they could get it fixed. That was a problem for Jaron since he had a camp out to get to.
By the time the races actually started, it was time for Jaron to head to his camp out. He was super sad...
His coach and I were also upset. Hopefully next time they'll have everything in working order before the races are supposed to start.
